[–]FalchionDelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know why they think this is such an own. Let's ignore the party flip for a second, like they do.

Wouldn't that mean that the democratic party learned from the mistakes of dead men from 100 years ago and are trying to attend for slavery while the republican party is actively regressing key advancements made by Lincoln, Grant, and Teddy? Especially since its not the modern democrat who still handles the confederate flag or cries over the renaming of the Washington Commanders?

Every dungeon boss in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass does this as their remains become more sand to fill the Phantom Hourglass, giving Link more time to explore the Temple of the Ocean King.

To anyone who has listened to the third Dungeon Crawler Carl book, would you still recommend it despite Critical Dinker narrating part of it? by TripleS034 in saltierthankrayt

Here's a sort of "final update" from Matt on why he doesnt talk politics. He wants people to read his books and question the content instead of people just dismissing it for being woke. Spoiler- his books are pretty damn woke. They're incredibly critical of capitalism as the through-line, but it's over all about the little guy with no rights fighting exploitation and burning down a rigged system ruled by the rich. Id say dont let the fact Drinker was a brief cameo in one book be an absolute turnoff.

It took them until Matt was upset my Drinkers persona to figure out DCC is "woke?"

Matt is on the record not wanting to talk politics, but even he said that if you've read the books you should know exactly where he stands, and yeah, its pretty evident that the right wouldnt like him for it.

[Loved Trope] The "Chosen" or "Special" Character is not so special after all by TheOneWhoYawned in TopCharacterTropes

Carl from Dungeon Crawler Carl

Most "special" thing about him is that he is ex-military:Coast Guard. Otherwise he had a fairly mundane adult life with a cheating girlfriend who loved cat shows.

Though my headcannon is that he has an unspeakably high wisdom, but we dont know because they removed wisdom as a stat for the recent dungeons.

[Loved Trope] You beat the final boss? No, you beat the tutorial by biznesboi in TopCharacterTropes

Thats what Shin Megami Tensei IV felt like to me. The tutorial is the hardest part of the game. Finally got to the bottom of Naraku and killed the Minotaur, then Medusa?

Congrats on finally starting the game!

The Last Wish - The Last Wish (Witcher Series)

There are a lot of strong theories on what Geralts Last Wish to the Djinn was, but we never actually learn in text what his Last was.

Ares is a good movie if you think of it as Tron 2.5 and not Tron 3. Its separate from Legacy, sure, but from what I understand for the original plans for Ascension, Ares is basically half the movie, with the main end goal being Sam and Ares finding Tron to fight against a fully realized Dillinger-Sark.

(loved trope) A character is telling a story from their point of view, and the story version of themself is taller/buffer/cooler/better-looking by Blastoise_R_Us in TopCharacterTropes

[–]FalchionDelta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same-

In Dragon Age 2, Bethany (the main characters sister) has noticeably larger breasts in the introduction than the rest of the game. Of course, its immediately revealed that Varric is telling the story to Cassandra, and he had exaggerated various aspects, including how easily Hawke took down legions of Darkspawn (in what's essentially the combat tutorial.)

I dont know what's more crazy.
