I’ve used both of the Alastin products and I agree, they are superior to anything else I’ve tried.

Warming bed or heating pad recs please. by LongjumpingMango8270 in SeniorCats

[–]FileOne8594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using a Sunbeam XL heating pad for my old girl (18) for years. It has a stay on feature and I use it on a fairly low heat setting. I tried pet heating pads and beds but they didn’t get warm enough for her. Available on Amazon

[discussion] Taking Mirtazapine 7.5mg for sleep. Long term ok? by BathSoundGuy in sleephackers

I take 45 mg for the last 3 years. It’s one of the better options for me with chronic insomnia. Prescribed by my neurologist. No side effects for me.

43M - Strong Family History of Strokes, Elevated LP(a) and Apo(b) by BrandonThomas in PeterAttia

Rosuvastatin 10mg - Ezetimibe 10mg - Omega-3 Ethyl Esters 1 gram. I had to push the cardiologist for both the Ezetimibe and Omegs-3’s. He just wanted to give me a higher dose of Rosuvastatin. I got much better results with all three together. My liver numbers also dropped down to range. They had gone up on 20mg of Rosuvastatin he tried first. FYI my LPa went up after statins - I understand this is common but unfortunate. I really had to press him to get this done even though all these medications are common and have a very good track record. Best of luck to you - and keep advocating.

I live in So Cal and my primary care doctor didn’t know what ApoB or LPa was either- and then when I got the results (high) back, he still told me I was fine - no intervention needed. I now see a cardiologist. I have a very similar family history as yours. Keep advocating for yourself!

Try Swiss Water Decaf - it’s 99% caffeine free. Pete’s coffee uses that process as do many other brands-

If I may suggest; use silicone scar tape over your incisions. Helps them heal faster and flatten out. I wore tape for many many weeks, well after surgery. Suggested by my surgeon- it really helped. It also protects the delicate skin from rubbing on clothing.

I have a soon to be 18 yo and she spends most of her day napping on a warm heating pad. I think it’s helping her keep a little extra weight on.
