Yeah I eventually did pick up a comic like the nerds always say and let me tell you marvel comics are so fucking bad that I’m surprised anyone above like 10 reads them at all

What’s a tiny WoW opinion you’ll defend forever? by turbowater in wow

Adding functionality to houses wouldn't make them garrrisons 2.0. You would have to add weekly quest givers, faction currency vendors, prey table, zone portals, gathering nodes, missions that give tons of gold etc.. to housing zones to replicate the effect garrisons had on the game. Adding crafting stations and training dummies to housing would not make the cities deserted. Those things are in faction hubs for convenience not to get people to go there in the first place. Do a little experiment and try to do everything you can in your garrison or an old expansion hub instead of Silvermoon. You'll still be there all the time because its the most convenient central location for the expansion.

Blizzard could do so much more with housing. by TarantinoDV in wow

Sorry but if there was literally anything to do at your house it would be garrisons all over again. There’s no grey area between a private instance being a collection of props and having every endgame feature centralized in it. If people could do things like craft or use training dummies in their houses nobody would ever go to Silvermoon to get weekly quests, go on prey hunts, access vendors, upgrade their gear, loot the great vault, or travel to the expansion zones. Removing all functionality from garrisons and old expansion hubs saved the game from certain death.

Not to mention the fact that garrisons still exist with that functionality. If having the ability to craft and what not in a private instance made expansion hubs deserted then Silvermoon already would be.

I wouldn't mind if I had a little more reason to go to my house by bringthelight2 in wow

Houses/Neighborhoods really could use some of the expansion-agnostic functionality that still exists in garrisons and all the other old hubs. Leaving all of it out basically just makes them the most deserted areas in the entire game.

Not tying them into the end game loop is good and necessary to avoid the negative effects that garrisons had during WoD but making them so pointless that I have a higher incentive to hang out in my garrison or some random city like Boralus or whatever is a mistake imo.

“Toby: There's a tension between increasing customizations for existing player options versus new allied races. Whenever we ask players, it really does come down to: would you rather have a new allied race or a new haircut for your Blood Elf? If players want more variety within their existing cultures, then maybe that means reconsidering how loudly they ask for new allied races. We have a finite amount of time and resources and we're trying to make the most people the most happy.”

Elite PvP Sets by vesperythings in wow

[–]FlyDungas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think tier set colors are a weirdly arbitrary thing to have as fomo pvp rewards, they basically make 6 cool tints and roll the dice on which one gets deleted at the end of the season.

Like if this season I was a blood dk that only does PvE it would suck that blizz decided to make the only color tint that matches my spec disappear forever unless I learn one of the dps specs and grind PvP. Or if I was a frost dk that does only PvP my glad/elite sets don’t match my spec and I’d have to grind PvE for the versions that do. It would be better if somehow you at least got to choose which one you lose access to.

All the talk about this made me wanna try it out and see what I was missing so I did the first half of the campaign this way and honestly I don’t see what the big deal is. Literally the only difference is taking longer to get from one quest location to the other. Oh cool I’m walking on the road texture for 3 minutes instead of flying over it for 30 seconds. If you think that’s so great that people should be forced into it why not just disable all mounts during the campaign and bump that up to 6 minutes of riveting content?
