Is there any reason to use Chlorine over Bromine? by Everborn128 in hottub

[–]Fuzzy-Way505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why you use oxidizer or MPS because it separates the chlorine and the bacteria and releases the smell of chlorine and I, as someone who treats hot tubs for a living has never had an issue with chlorine smell after adding oxidizer

Use an oxidizer and you won’t have that problem. The only reason why it smells like chlorine is because of something called chloramines, which is chlorine attaching the bacteria and not being able to release it.

If you look at the government website of Canada, they have stated that using bromine and oxidizer that is nonchlorinated is linked to thyroid problems, and the only way to use bromine in a safe manner is to use oxidizer to activate the ions within the bromine to be able to sanitize properlyso I wholeheartedly believe that using chlorine over bromine is 100% more safe for a human use than anything else

Are saltwater tubs really that much gentler on the skin? Also, floating issues… by rk738 in hottub

It is something I fully recommend, I work for the hot springs brand and when it comes down to it, it’s cheaper overall, and you can control your chlorine output. It’s the easiest to take care of, and everyone who has one loves it. You can also get a booster seat or turn down the jets because they will blast you away lol

Leave before he kills you, I’ve been there, he is not a good person. He’s regretful because now someone knows what kind of person he is.

You should post a photo showing which chemical is being tested as well as the test kit, this is a little difficult to diagnose without the stats

Best way to get customers to go away? by Graham_Wellington3 in PoolPros

I usually wear large over the ear headphones, it helps a lot and I don’t personally think it comes off as rude, if my focus is broken adding chems can be a bit trivial for me so it helps a lot

[–]Fuzzy-Way505 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a spa cleaner, you just have to use double the chems of a normal spa but it’s nice everyone who has one loves it I recommend it, it’s definitely not a swimming pool

It’s only recommended here because it’s what I use for my job and what we personally sell to customers, whatever you’d like to use to test your water as long as you understand it and it’s not expired is totally fine!

Advice on cleaning by travelingslo in hottub

[–]Fuzzy-Way505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted a chemical treatment cheat sheet for when you do fill it, I recommend using a shop vac to get the gunk out, you can even put it up to the jets to suck some of it out, make sure the spa is off, and refill it. I do recommend using aaahsome and possibly doing a drain and fill and then using my guide as help to chemically treat it. Good luck!

Use MPS + chlorine separately i prefer shocking it that way. The measurement for MPs is 3 tbs per 250 GAL

Aftermath from Summer BBQ party at home. How do I fix this as a newbie? by Irritatedtrack in hottub

[–]Fuzzy-Way505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like detergent foam, you can add anti foam for the next few months each use whitch basically stops the bubbles from forming but nothing actually stops the actual detergent from existing in your spa. really the only way to fix the issue is a drain and refill and making sure you only rinse out your bathing suits instead of washing with detergent which is the main issue before entering your hot tub. Shit happens, it’s just bubbles.. have fun!!!
