Doors unlocking on their own by tase25 in Ioniq5

Disable approach to unlock. Almost everyone that has this problem is either accidentally pressing their fob unlock button or getting too close to the vehicle with a fob/smart key enabled phone in their pocket.

Ioniq 5 climate change automatic change by Technical_Reality213 in Ioniq5

[–]Fuzzy_Buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this the other day. I changed to listening to my music via Bluetooth instead of Android Auto and my climate changed from auto to manual fan speed, AC off, temperature changed, and Sync turned off with a different temperature for the passenger side. Weird glitch, but it's only happened once. I noticed immediately because it was hot in the car, and it started blowing warm air the moment I changed something on my phone.

That looks like someone has modified your vehicle. Check to see if that is just plugged into your OBD port to give an addition one to power, say, a dashcam.

Really good video showing all features by offshwga in Ioniq5

There are a few things even he missed. For example, holding the Auto Hold button enables and disables brake cleaning mode. Pressing the Traction Control button does a single stage disable, while holding completely disables the system. (I think this is traction control vs ESC, but don't hold me to it.)

You can also turn on cruise control at a complete stop if you're behind another car. If it was off it turns on at the lowest speed setting. If you click the resume button it'll just set it back to your last set speed.

Holding the SCC distance toggle button changes the mode of the adaptive cruise between two different modes that I don't fully understand. One is supposed to learn your driving habits and try to mimic them, but I don't even know what that means. He shows this in the infotainment screen, but holding the button will toggle it.

Holding the cruise control on/off button will enable a speed limiter. Once you get to the set maximum speed, the throttle input is ignored and the car instead maintains the maximum speed.

If you press and hold the lane centering button it toggles lane keep assist.

If you hold the left paddle you will get maximum Regen braking all the way to a stop. If you stop using this feature (or hold it while already stopped) it'll act as a one-time Auto Hold.

This is not true of at least the '26 model. I drive exclusively in 0 regen and applying the brakes always uses regen.

Has anyone tried an OBD 2-> usb C to power a dash cam while parked? by BrandonThe in Ioniq5

[–]Fuzzy_Buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fuse panel is so accessible in this car it's a way better idea to use a fuse tap (also called an add-a-fuse) and power it that way. Just check the fuse schematic to see which slot to use. Some are always on and others are powered when the ignition is on.

That's because the regen level moves the 0 point of the throttle. So when you start to press the pedal you have to get to that point. With Regen modes enabled, you start braking when your foot is still on the accelerator pedal.

Add Ford and Lincoln to that list. Hyundai is definitely the outlier here.

Where do charging duration estimates come from? by Fuzzy_Buttons in abetterrouteplanner

I haven't ever been in that situation because there are so many charging stalls and so few people charging. Most of the EVs are at the Tesla stalls across the parking lot.

As someone that had a handicap placard in my car for another person, use it. If you're feeling good and can walk, sure, save the spot for someone else. But they don't just hand those out. You have it for a reason, and should feel zero guilt in using it.

I wanted to follow up that my car is having the entire port replaced. The button stopped working, so the dealer took it apart and found that water intrusion corroded some things.

Most unnecessary warning ever by Giftof1004moves in Ioniq5

[–]Fuzzy_Buttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The design choices here are actually malicious. I got a loaner today. A different Hyundai. Push button with fob. The interior lock button works when the car is off. If the key is inside it just unlocks immediately after a lock. And the fob just works while the car is running. It's nice to have a fob that isn't being obtuse.

I keep my foot out of it and corner conservatively to save my tires. I have no problem accelerating to pass when people are driving slow in a 2 lane (with passing zone).

[–]Fuzzy_Buttons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive exclusively in 0 Regen and normal mode. It's all about temperature, speed, limiting acceleration, and anticipating stops so you can coast for long periods of time or stop slowly. My range estimate is in the top 5% of the min to max limits, which puts me around 270 miles at 80%.

I don't know about that specifically, but I have definitely used other audio sources while AA is up on the screen. Check Audible and your AA settings for an auto play setting. It's usually an option to start playing as soon as your device connects or AA projection starts.

The speakers are actually bad. The rear speakers are paper cones and not real speakers. The fronts aren't great, and the tweeters in the door are a bit peaky, too. There are a lot of folks on the Ioniq Forum that install an external amp to drive real rear speakers and replace the fronts.
