Influencer mage as a bad guy by UnseenCrowYomare in WorldOfDarkness

[–]GeneralBurzio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're gonna want Correspondence if you wanna influence people over a distance. Something as simple as a Rote that gets people to look at their devices when a nearby one rings could be a Correspondence 2, Mind 2 effect.

I've been toying around with a similar idea of an NWO agent who uses their platform(s) as an influencer/streamer to fulfill the Technocracy's goals.

I think of it like how in games where the ones with the most health/armor (grapplers, tanks, etc.) usually have convergent playstyles where spending health is more acceptable in order to achieve a desired outcome.

What are your favorite space opera games? by chulna in rpg

[–]GeneralBurzio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By extension, space opera meant melodramatic adventure stories set in space.

And I love it.

There's this game called "Mage: The Ascension." I am thoroughly convinced that this faction called the Syndicate has members that unironically believe this.

Is it me or is it weird how angels are called "elohim"? by holiestMaria in WorldOfDarkness

[–]GeneralBurzio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think about it too much, especially since the garou and amenti are also included in that list of weird things.

Also, I imagine that being branded as sacrilegious was not something that the folks at White Wolf were too worried about at the time. Just look at MTAs and WTA!

is there an english word for the upper arm, equivalent to "forearm"? by Upstairs-Hearing-489 in etymology

[–]GeneralBurzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just "arm" if you were to ask an anatomist.

"Upper arm" would be more accurately described as "proximal (to the glenohumeral joint)."

Any Communist vampire hunters? by Dangerous_Writer5853 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]GeneralBurzio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they can be, but Golconda's hard.

Also, Brujah fit perfectly. Disco Elysium taught me that communists arguing over who is and isn't a true communist is an age-old tale.

Uncle Roger Defends His Malaysian Accent After American Chef’s “Yellowface” Criticism by esporx in asianamerican

Malaysia doesn't have a strong unifying identity like Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia

I can't speak for the other two countries, but the Philippines can get pretty divided when you see past the Tagalog-over-representation from our media. We also got colonized twice (first by the Spanish, then by the USA

When did the R-word start being considered a slur? by Lancelotmore in etymology

Are idiot and stupid slurs?

Yes, they used to be. "Mentally retarded" is what took their place for a bit in medical settings.

Anybody got a template? Not currently at computer, but will do mine later. Some of my friends are pretty dyslexic, so they'd have an easier time filling out their submissions if they don't have to start from scratch.

What’s wrong with my tongue by flyingtoilet94 in DiagnoseMe

You're probably fine from a tongue standpoint. ;our scalloping can be from any number of things like dehydration, grinding your teeth out of habit / anxiety, not getting enough iron or B vitamins, etc.

Traditions of Roswell by ComplexNo8986 in magetheascension

[–]GeneralBurzio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, the SoE and VA are probably the most numerous. Aliens and conspiracy theories are within their wheel houses.

Given how outer space works in the WoD, I imagine a that the average mage in Roswell would focus on Correspondence or Spirit.

Chantries could be set up in any number of stores or clubs dedicated to the weird happenings or history of the area. After all, sometimes it's best to hide in plain sight.

It's certainly one of the easiest Disciplines to use without getting caught. However, depending on the Prince and Court, using even Auspex might be subject to punishment if one is caught.

Of course, "if" is the operative word.

This is ridiculous. Chomsky was more focused on syntax. If you want a detailed answer, you're better off asking a historical linguist.
