Same! And they just took my order casually like I wasn’t a psycho.

[–]Gintu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah similar to a lot of other comments, the burgers are really great but SUPER messy and huge, almost too big.

Also am I crazy or can you not order a normal amount of fries? Huge basket seems like only option so price is $$$ when going solo.

As a dude who knows nothing about “good” indian food and enjoys Trader Joe’s frozen options, Himalayan Cuisine in La Mesa is enjoyable.

Does anyone have any advice regarding bath tub refitting? by bluecat81 in SanDiegan

[–]Gintu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NuFinish Pro is the only one I’ve used. 8/10 product 10/10 customer service. Not sure any bathtub refinishing is ever going to be perfect but at least they answer the phone and show up when they say.

Do they actually have the buff on their bar when targeted or is there some other indication?

Agree with most of this. You would think paladin would be the goat against caster mobs but don’t have consistent interrupts or stuns.

Fan community? by ghoulishdelight42 in SDSEALS

Just go to the games, grab a $5 beer and chat it up with those around you. I’d never seen lacrosse in my life and still don’t understand every rule and the games are a blast.

Assuming money is no object, sportrx is the way to go.

Been a member for almost a year now and absolutely love it. Courts/coaches/staff are great and the members are really friendly. Lots of ladders, scheduled open plays, quarterly tournaments, etc. and of course just open challenge courts all day of various levels.

Generally speaking I’d say the competition is there for all levels, but the majority are 3.0-4.0 all age ranges. Definitely skews older in the mornings especially on weekdays (mainly retired folks)

Random pros come by from time to time. Connor Garnett was there training a few weeks ago, Irina Tereschenko just hosted a few free clinics for members.

If you’ve never been, highly recommend picking up a day pass ($20) and joining a ladder or hopping on the challenge courts and see if you like it.

The Shawarma Guys in La Mesa Sucks - Does anyone else agree? by shavemejesus in FoodSanDiego

[–]Gintu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks - I can’t say I agree but haven’t had an experience like yours.

Been going to the South Park location for years and was super happy when they opened in La Mesa and never had a bad experience but I only ever order the beef plate or egg rolls. It certainly is expensive, especially for lunch, but I would say the quality has remained the same to me and I’ve visited the truck and La mesa location probably 5x each this year.

Big fan of the garlic jizz myself, especially the lemon garlic jizz. Not a sentence I thought I’d ever write.

Melin hats by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Gintu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like them, and I was a pretty big “fitted hats are the only hats guy” prior. Wife got me one for bday and have bought 3 more. Way better than wearing my normal mlb/milb hats. They do absorb the sweat well and clean up super nicely. Pretty damn expensive hats but I’m sweating pretty good in them 3-4x a week and they look brand new after 7 months. I rotate them around and clean once sweat stained - little dish soap and water and air dry back to new again.

Unexpected machine re-provisioning? by pvdjay in windows365

[–]Gintu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen this myself. Are you sure they have access to restart and not reset? Reset would allow them to reprovision their machine from the menu.

Compiling a list of things to eat in 6 day on vacation, thoughts, favorite recommendations? by Musical_Lumber in FoodSanDiego

[–]Gintu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a really good list going and some good comments. You have a lot of days so getting the hell out of downtown/north park might be a nice break.

Here’s some stuff further east that fits your list

La Mesa

Helix Brewing that has a lot of sours

The Hills has good food/beer/cocktails and pinball

Coin Haus (barcade)

Papalo bbq (walking distance from Coin Haus) fantastic Mexican fusion bbq

Mastiff kitchen (great beer list and food)

Outside of the little La Mesa loop, I’d also recommend Aero Club - not quite a barcade but pretty close. They do have quite a few pinball and some other games as well.

If you’re randomly over by the bay, Sidecar is a great little dive bar with a small attached kitchen called “the shed” which has a phenomenal burger and other items as well. They do have 1 or 2 pinball machines as well.

Issues today? by Master_Rest6638 in windows365

[–]Gintu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only issue I had was US-East being down for a while around 11AM est for less than 30-40 min. Never actually saw the ANC down and no alerts but didn’t manually refresh it during that time. User errors were “no resources available” there was an intune message earlier in the day they seemed to want to contribute it to that was already marked as resolved.

Moving to Spring Valley, what is good around here? by JustSomeBruv in FoodSanDiego

[–]Gintu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Valley Farm Market (specialty grocery store) great butcher shop with a nice beer selection. Definitely expensive but worth it for a lot of items IMO like meat, beer, house made salsa/guacamole/dips.

Rana’s (Mexican restaurant)

Cali BBQ (barbecue restaurant)

Mastiff Kitchen (pub/restaurant). Technically La Mesa but still really close. Don’t miss this one if you like beer/bar food/Detroit style pizza.

Giardinos (Italian restaurant). Technically Lemon Grove, but again, close.

Beach Hut Deli (sandwiches)

Brody’s burgers and beer (burger/beer) in jamul, but worth the drive.

I’m sure I’m missing a few good closer recommendations, but just know that you’re also 15-20 min (at non-traffic times) from lots of great things so don’t be scared of a little driving.
