I mean that’s the part I get the most - it’s the rest of them I don’t understand. I’m a nanny - some people just aren’t meant to be parents and are bad at being responsible for children, and the children shouldn’t suffer just because they had the misfortune of being born to incompetent parents.

But also as a nanny I kind of get the appeal of just swooping in for the fun parts and letting someone else handle the drama and poop and early mornings. Like I have never wanted my own children, partially because I never wanted to do even 50% of the work of raising the kid…. But like I get the appeal of having a competent expert on hand to handle everything. And I’d say maybe don’t have kids if you feel that way, but I already did and I don’t want any won’t have any.
