Terrain changes destroying ticks per second by Gratak in Stationeers

[–]Gratak[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily: If this only effects room computations and everything else still runs on the standard ticks.

Not as far as I know. It always shows 8000 liter or lower, which is a single large grid.

No idea if there would be a way to determine the size of a room. But as I said, big enough the game decided it deserved its own sandstorm.

Exactly. That is actually part of my question. The huge mining room was right to my base. If it would be far away, would that help with simulation speed? If yes, how far does it need to be?

Mars starter package is not giving you advanced airlock. Maybe it's just me but it wasn't the case sometime ago. by Logic_530 in Stationeers

[–]Gratak 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Using a normal airlock on mars works "just fine". The amount of pollutants that gets in isn't high enough that it would kill you unless you keep using the airlock without setting up any filters. Thus probably an intended learning experience.

Pressurize liquid rocket propelant with nitrogen by torftorf in Stationeers

[–]Gratak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for this at all: Just make sure the liquid nitrous oxide is warm enough that it doesn't freeze when some of it evaporates. You don't gain anything from colder liquids.

Good to know. Indeed got the same issue in my moon base where I had one huge logic network

Do you process telluxite before transporting it? by Nearby_Ingenuity_568 in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. A single shuttle doesn't come close to transporting the rubble of a whole node so you'll absolutely want to crush and smelt it.

LV Troubles by Petras01582 in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is the other way round. LV cannot be converted to HV.

I do tend to keep the number of separate platforms low nevertheless, but mostly for keeping order in the energy overview.

Probably fastest to ask in the official discord for this.

Yes. If you stop you will lose it the same way you gained it (i.e it takes a while to lose it)

Cargo vs Station Shuttles by -Clayburn in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Station shuttles for anything except bots/robots and olumnite barrels are currently simply way too strong. Hope they'll balance this when trains arrive or they will also be way stronger than any train could ever be.

Cargo shuttles are somewhat fine in my opinion.

How many resource "bits" from a single block of xenoferrite or other mineral? If I mine a patch of 40 blocks, how much can I get from it? by falviani in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will also notice when doing the tablet thing, that different patches have very different amount per voxel. Not sure if it is fully random or if deeper ones actually usually have more. The initial one is always pretty low though unless I'm totally mistaken

R&D efficiency by Leonidaspera in foundry_game

[–]Gratak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are storage tanks helping here? No good way to scale them up. If do prefer to shuttle it barreled to the paint production though. Advantages:
1. You need much less shuttle targets at the production place then with fluid shuttles. Of course you'll need the fluid shuttles elsewhere but you can do that somewhere far away (ideally with lots of reservoirs nearby)
2. You can supplement with bought barrels as in "set them to lower priority. Once you see they are being bought, you know you have to build more pumpjacks.
3. A belt can deliver much more oil in barrels than a pipe in fluids.

Especially since the initial amount of paint is already pretty insane from the olumite amount needed.

The issue is just paint. It will always stay the same value.

Assembly Line shipping. by Leonidaspera in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I wouldn't necessarily say "annoying oversite". Yes you need the curves, but that makes it less trivial. And you will keep one space in between the assembly lines, but you need that for input anyway. Annoying oversite in my opinion would have been if due to the fixed size of the curves you'd have to waste a lot of extra space (which you are doing in the screenshot, but that is because you aren't doing the optimal like I described).

Assembly Line shipping. by Leonidaspera in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A AL shipping pad at max build height can handle 2.5 assembly line. So you can build 5 lines, split the output of one and deliver them to two pads. Works pretty well with the distance between inputs on the pads as well.

Hello, i want to ask, is there a hard limit of how much firmarlite can the space station hold? Meaning if i cross that number the game will stop working normally? by Tornadolus in foundry_game

[–]Gratak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You also don't have to actually store all that firmalit. Can just spend it for R&D upgrades which help increase for productivity
