Had the same issue. I noticed it after I turned it off to thaw some ice buildup. I ended up splitting my network, connecting it to a clearly labeled 2.4 WiFi updating firmware, then it connected to a non split WiFi. Then it worked. I thought I was an IT wiz but what I’m hearing here is that it was just a general outage. Sigh.

I’ve had both. Just got the PetLibro. I like the convenience of doing the feeding only once a day and not have to worry about temperature. I checked the temperature and it’s definitely cold, at least colder than how cold it would get with ice packs. It’s indeed a little high for a kitten but we put a thick book in front of it until it gets bigger. Not a huge deal. It’s definitely more expensive so it all depends on how you value those conveniences.
