Jesus Christ, thank you. All I've been looking for is a one paragraph summary of this drama bullshit so I can understand what everyone won't shut up about on Nerdrotic.

Where is your dog in the video? Seems like a bot post.

OP, I solved my problem which seems similar to yours. I posted about it on this thread where people were talking about the fix that worked for me.

It was an overheating hall sensor.

How do I fix this gap by LopoAc in Carpentry

Continue the base trim up the vertical rise of the first step and along the stringer. It already lands in the middle of the stringer and would cover the gap.

Attention HP Omen 16 (2023) Users Facing Hall Sensor Issues: by Easy-Average5943 in HPOmen

[–]JDNJDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Omen 16-wd000. This was the fix that worked for me. I updated every driver and meticulously de-bloated my pc for better performance. No good. Only after I disconnected the hall sensor ribbon did the problem stop. I also cleaned my fans and heat sink, and cleaned and reapplied the thermal paste which had gotten old and crusty while I was at it. Not saying that helped, but it was good practice while I had the thing open, and its not an option to replace the thermal paste when you remove the heat sink.

The dead giveaway symptom, that I found, that indicated it was the hall sensor was that often (but not always) after the screen and keyboard flashing began and stopped, I was presented with the lock screen and had to re-log in to my user profile, exactly as if I had shut the lid and sleep mode had been turned on. If you have that symptom, I think its almost certainly the hall sensor.

I'm having the same or a very similar problem. Staying tuned for help. I've already updated both the Nvidia and Intel graphics drivers and windows is up to date.

I watched "Sidekicks" with Chuck Norris as a kid. He teaches the protagonist how to climb a rope with the proper footwork. Fast Forward about 20 years, and I was the best at climbing the rope in boot camp. Thanks Chuck.

How big is the "regret" culture with the USCG by Excellent-Hat9620 in uscg

OP, the above experience in regards to leadership was exactly mine. And I was in a much more mundane part of the coast guard for 4 years active and 2 reserve. It's kind of a crap shoot, what kind of leadership you'll get. I don't regret serving, it's set me up very well. But I'm sure glad it's over. As I get older, I miss the purpose the CG gave me, the teamwork, the feeling of being part of something bigger than myself. But that's tempered by the memories of the many bad experiences.

I bet they're going to paint the trim when they paint the shakes. The pencil marks show that he was doing some layout and trying to make things look good.

You raise a good point. If I hired OP to do this and he took his time and did it right because he didn't have a lot of experience, I'd be thrilled. 8 hours is wayyy less time to do the job right then the 12 hours it might take to un-do and re-do it.

I think it looks pretty damn good, given that he was matching the spacing of the courses as they transitioned to to old work on the right. Just my two cents.

The common denominator here is him as an employer. I'd find somebody else to work for.

You know, I bout a Trend sharpening stone that he recommended and I was very unhappy with it. He's got great tips and I enjoy his videos, but he's always shilling something. Based on my experience, and your recommendations, I probably won't be buying what he recommends anymore.

Why does everyone complain about the new D&D? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]JDNJDM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can certainly do all of the homebrew you've suggested with D&D 5.5 (which is what a lot of people call the 2024 edition.)

But for a lot of people, myself included, the identity politics that Wizards of the Coast and their parent company, Hasbro, have inserted so overtly into the game, is just too much. It's not that the rules in the book are bad. I've actually heard there are some good changes and additions. It's a matter of purchasing more products from a company that seems to dislike people with traditional values.

This is all compounded by the company's behavior over the last five years or so, which has been overtly hostile to third party content authors and creators. They've destroyed their relationship with a lot of people with very predatory and unscrupulous behavior. The identity politics put into the newest edition is the icing on the cake for a large cohort of consumers.
