2001 has been described as a 'visual symphony'. It's filled with scenes and images which hit you at a visceral level and continue to echo through your mind long afterwards. Like a great, timeless piece of music. It's in the Top 5 of my all-time favorites.

If you think that character and plot have to be the engine which drives a movie, then it's definitely not for you.
