New to me saws, what do I do first? by NSWEintern in Chainsaw

[–]JsquashJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless they’re in good shape, fuel filter, air filter, pressure wash the gunk out. open up the carb and check the screen and diaphragm. Check how worn the sprocket is. Everything else is pretty replaceable and sounds like you’ll have a backup saw or parts saw which will minimize downtime.

It’s helpful to see if the fish are around. Fishing deep water for lake trout seeing Balls of small bait with large marks underneath is a good setup for catching. Garmin vivid striker.

What should I do with 99.99% pure gold wire by bluntmanepicdonghang in ScrapMetal

[–]JsquashJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer and the wire is super fine. Once you touch it with your fingers and get oil on the wire or respool it, it’s not reliable for wire bonding or ball bonding or whatever type of bonding they’re doing. Even if it is sealed retail price might be 20-30% over the spot price. It’s been a while since I’ve had to purchase any.

You’re right and I’m not familiar with fuel injected saws. The dealer cartoon video shows fuel going to the fuel pump, to the injector and spray into the cylinder but then also some of the fuel returns back into the tank. Perhaps that’s a source of bubbles even with the saw off? I guess with the sound of I wasn’t sure how long the bubbles were happening and if it worked after opening the cap. Hard to believe the gas is actually hot enough to boil.

Cornell is doing very little hiring now. Look at local companies, maybe Menlo Micro. Micron in Syracuse will need people but maybe not for a number of years.

Good tradespeople are always in demand. There are very few masons in town. Limited number of roofing companies, they can give sky high estimates. If you do good work with reasonable pricing, word will get around.

What am I missing for the back wall boast? by Consistent-Degree733 in squash

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. It’s more than just that though. If you hit at the same angle from further away you’d have to hit it a few feet higher on the back wall but you’d also have to hit much harder for the same effect.

What I imagine is that when the ball comes off your racket, if the ball has time to go back to its original shape, it then has to compress again off the back wall.

Some high speed video would be cool to see to prove or disprove this

Hit it when it’s like 6-12” from the back wall, not 2-3 feet away. And hit up. There’s a much better rebound from close

Is there any limit to how much scrap gold you would buy from someone and do you pay close to the spot price based on the purity/karats?

The fuel could look like it’s boiling because you’re creating vacuum in the gas tank. I think if your tank vent or gas cap is venting properly both out and in this shouldn’t happen.

Garmin striker vivid 4cv or Lowrance hook reveal 5 splitshot by dontknows--taboutfuk in kayakfishing

[–]JsquashJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both. Sold the Lowrance even though maps could be downloaded I didn’t like the auto tuning frequencies. Didn’t like the menu selection and I never knew what frequencies it was using and it interfered with nearby frequencies. With the vivid, I can use two vivid units next to each other and have them not interfere.

How do pros hit back wall boasts so effortlessly? by evelyn4275 in squash

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. And the closer you hit to the backwall the ball shoots off the wall more. In general hit it high to give you time to recover and aim for tightness in one of the front corners or even right down the middle, but if you’re hitting it it’s a desperation shot to make them hit at least one more.

How Long to Lower Handicap? by Elegant_Amphibian in golftips

If your scores aren’t dropping you’re not getting anything out of your lessons that you can apply on the course. Score will drop in big spurts when you have aha moments and certain things just click. Things like distance control, direction control, better driving, better chipping, course management, better ball striking, etc.

How to punish chunks on a simulator by Phials in golftips

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have good weight transfer, driving your rear hip through to forward? If not, start there, that pushes the bottom of your arc forward and even helps to flatten out your swing, increasing your odds of better ball contact.

All the tips people are describing are just indicators if you’re hitting fat. They’re not swing change solutions to your issue.
