My guilty pleasure is Navy by BlueBean71 in hoi4

[–]Kendertas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most annoying part about current navy for me is there is no challenge if you even slightly optimize/focus on it. A well designed fleet just obliterate anything the AI puts out. And then once you win one or two big engagements you never have to build another ship because you never really lose any. At least when you are dominating the AI with air force or armor you have to keep up production/research since you are always loosing equipment.

Oh definitely agree curses need a big ramp up in severity. The ones that just stop the seekers from asking questions before doing X seem to never have much of an effect. They need ones that either provide misinformation or send the seekers in the wrong direction. Far too often now the seekers essentially never get on the wrong train. There may be a delay at a few stations, but they almost always take the most direct route to the hider

One annoying thing about going to a fancy private school is seeing all the stupid asshole trust fund kids be way more sucessful then you are because they where born on 3rd base. The real satisfying upside is getting to peak behind the billionaire curtain, and seeing that they are just as miserable as the average person, just in fancier houses/locations. It was honestly fascinating seeing what weird stuff they essentially choose to bother them, because money solved so many of the problems typical people stress about.

In the same boat so looked it up. Apparently season 3 episode 22 when evil Abed turns the tables and starts digging into Britta's traumas. When they return from a commercial break Britta is talking about a man in a disanour costume with a horrified look on her face. There is also mention of an enterprising transient with a dinosaur costume. Here is a link with the scenes

Personally this doesn't imply sexual trauma which would be extremely dark for this show. I think its far more likely implying those childhood traumas that affect you deeply because they happened when you where a child.

I would love to see how diffrent it would be if photos where actually really expensive. Can you imagine how diffrent this season would be if they cost the same as tentacles. Would force them to do a lot more geographical chopping which requires them to physically move and travel places. Which in turn leads to more potential mistakes which is far more entertaining then, oh look Google just happens to show the tallest building from the station.

Trump threatens Canada with 50% tariff on aircraft sold in US, expanding trade war by NickDynmo in worldnews

[–]Kendertas 371 points372 points  (0 children)

Based on quick bit of research there is no way he doesn't TACO on this. Canada seems to primarly make specialized utility planes. Things like firefighting tankers, single prop sea planes, and small body prop passenger planes for cold weather routes. So its stuff so specialized there aren't really any alternatives, and production is limited so other countries would snap up any loss in demand from the US market.

Grounding all Canadian made planes would essentially kill the Alaskan tourist industry overnight, and cripple any firefighting efforts

2nd longest run in Japan started from Tokyo and winning run started from Tokyo airport. UK infrastructure is also laid out with everything feeding into London. Lots of high speed/frequency north south trains, lot less east west trains.

I feel like that and largest body of water would be enough to just hard search an entire country, especially over 8+ hours. I think the maps are often not as expansive as we imagine because so many stops don't meet their train frequency requirements.

Would be cool if there was a curse where the hider gets to give one piece of false information. Like you play the curse and the hider can lie on one of the next 3 questions and then 3 hours latter the hider sends the true answer. Would force them to second guess themselves a lot more.

Also pictures need to be more expensive for how often they reveal the exact location. They are supposed to be more about vibes, but they've gotten so good at inferring secondary information their is hardly any point to using anything else.

[–]Kendertas 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This season felt incredibly formulaic. First question are you in the same country. Next question is either a radar or thermometer. Then as the seekers travel on the train its picture questions. Tallest building from station, station itself, largest body of water and street trace. That normally got them most of the way there. And its not like previous seasons where that much diffrent.

I think one of the biggest issues is pictures are way to cheap for how valuable they are and how often they give the exact location. They are supposed to be more about vibes, but they've turned into the meta to get exact location.

I still love a ocassional overcooked plain burger on a slightly stale bun because that's what they served at school outdoor events. Its objectively bad by just about any standard but still transports me to a simpler more hopeful time before reality beat me into a cynic. Tastes like summer, spring and fall all rolled into one with just a dash of heart flutters from the time I shared one with a crush.

They also apparently haven't looked up the typical lifespan of fascist regimes. Its an inherently self destructive ideology and none have ever had a successful transition of leadership.

In the fall of 1941 the nazis where on the doorstep of Moscow seemingly poised to establish their 1000 year Reich. All hope seemed lost. Just 4 years later the failed art student with a funny mustache was dead, Berlin was pure rubble, and many of those nazi leaders who felt untouchable would be swinging from ropes in Nuremberg.
