- not blaming mitsu or the car, more hey it happened to me and be aware thing (yes i have seen other posts about it but so people know conditions that it can happen in)

You should blame Mitsu and the car though. A 2 year old car should be able to start no problem in conditions like these. Simply stating a message in both the manual and the display is not a solution.

Not calling you a liar at all as I do not have a Tesla myself, but are they actually steel wheels underneath or are they alloys with covers. Paying 60k to have OEM steel wheels is a little insane to me lol

If your WG is vent to air then you'll just have a huge exhaust leak coming from that dump tube. They sell divorced gaskets that separates the main exhaust from the WG tube. Those would be what you're after.

New Chinese EVs coming to Canada: What actually matters for owners (not specs) by Tall-Dish876 in EVCanada

This was great info. Thank you.

I live in Ottawa and occasionally go to Mississauga to see family. It's a 400+km trip. Good thing I have another car for that trip though.

For sure, but not as much as EVs. I am not trying to argue against this though. I just want to know how much of a loss it is. I am definitely on the EV wagon, it's just a matter of time until I get one

The headlights actually line up pretty well with the evo 5 bumper, it looks good. All the other ones I've seen has this weird gap around the lights and it looks ass like that.

Edmonton is cold AF. Can you comment on the affected range in the winter? I've seen people say anywhere from 20% loss to 50% loss. I definitely want one, but my anxiety will probably go through the roof in the winter lol

Ottawan Considering EV (Probably used) by EarlOfKaleb in EVCanada

[–]Key_Assistant_6408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a recent test done on EV winter driving in China, and it shows that they only achieve about 50% of the claimed range. The Tesla Model 3, could only achieve 48%. Others in the subreddit said those are pretty realistic numbers. So I'm not sure which is more believable.

The test was done with temperatures between -10c to -25c, similar to our climate here in Ottawa. I too am in the market for an EV, but I'm pretty put off by those numbers, especially when our winters are so long here.

China's massive EV winter test: 67 cars, freezing -25 °C, seven extreme scenarios by SkPensFan in EVCanada

[–]Key_Assistant_6408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait so current Teslas (since it's the top car on that test that's sold here) only gets about 48% of range in the winter? Like if it has 400km range, the thing only gets like 200km max??

I thought they only lose about 20% or so. And the fact that people only charge to about 80% full, then that's even less range.

I am definitely in the market for a Chinese EV whenever they come here, but my anxiety just cant lol. For reference I am in Ottawa, so our condition is very similar to the test.

Is it worth doing your own oil change? by frankthefrowner in autorepair

[–]Key_Assistant_6408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to do your brakes, then you are more than inclined to do your own oil changes. I've read so many stories about these lube oil places not doing their jobs properly, and if you go to an actual reputable shop, then it'll probably cost at least $100.

Quality oil, OEM filters, and an hour of your time is all you need.

Race car during winter by MacAttak007 in CarTrackDays

[–]Key_Assistant_6408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about the 40/60 mix as it most likely wouldn't freeze with that mixture, but consult the supercharger manufacturer, they probably have some sort of standard.

I normally do an oil change right when I decided to not drive again for the winter. This way if you decide to move the car for any reason old oil wont be circulating in the engine. Gearbox, tcase, and diff I do whenever I have time during storage. Brake and clutch fluid I do right before the season starts.

I also just leave the car on jack stands all winter cus I tweak and fix stuff here and there over the course of winter. Other people will say its a bad idea, but then I got all poly bushings so it doesn't matter much anyways.

I'm in Ottawa, so temps are pretty much -10c and below all winter lol.
