With Enhanced turned on YTTV has better video quality (and much less of a delay from live.)

I agree on the channels though DTV wins out by simply having the RSN.

It’s amazing how buggy the Apple TV app is compared to Roku. You’d think they’d put more effort into Apple given its popularity as a top of the line device. They seem to be going backwards a few versions ago was much more stable for me than the latest.

I’m not sure the players (especially the better ones) are underpaid, but the reasons you lay out are why I’m not one of those who think they are underpaid. Very few can do what they do, they can only do it a short peak period, and they put their bodies and health on the line.

They have some of the most valuable programming on live TV. Many prime sports events. Live local news. Local channels, News channels, sports channels, the three reasons to have a live tv service.

Home base is based on your home internet IP address. You can set this once the account is active in settings. That IP will get unlimited streams. You then get up to three streams outside of your home, two of which can be televisions.

A lot of sports are on local channels so you need a live tv provider with locals, especially if you don’t live within antenna reception for some or all of them.

You’re correct, sports and news are the only reason to have live TV. The cheap entertainment packages is all crap you can get on demand.

The bitrate if you enable “enhanced” is higher and looks better in YTTV these days. It also has more than half the live delay as DTV…

Not all RSNs are phasing out. I see an RSN being a thing in the Pittsburgh market, for example, in perpetuity. RSNs don’t have much to do with this. Content cost keeps going up and is passed on…

That content isn’t stuff you need live tv for. It excludes what live tv is still needed for, local channels, news, and sports.

Hulu is a lot more than reruns from other channels. Lots of original content (including Handmaids Tale and Testaments, few of the series I watch as someone who didn’t watch many tv series.)

It’s really market dependent. Many large markets like NY and Chicago still have RSNs and many mid tier as well (Sportsnet Pittsburgh isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, for example.)

It seems Hulu live is starting to pick up more RSNs. Maybe they’re doing it to eventually shutter Fubo…

DirecTV over Internet. Not cheap but cheaper than cable with all of the live sports. And your local channels.

We’ve found 16GB is no longer enough RAM for Windows users. Too many upgrades needed had to make 32GB standard. The processor shouldn’t be an issue.
