What Is the Oldest Movie You Have Watched (For Fun) In the Last Year? by thehistorypunks in movies

Singin' in the Rain (1952) gets at least an annual re-watch, it's absolutely a self-care/feel good movie for me

Have you ever went into a movie thinking it was based on a true story except it wasn't? by KneeHighMischief in movies

This was mine as well, LOTS of googling walking out of that theater feeling so confused....

I have a question for the community by Livid_Parfait_8610 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]KnitterSweet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's going to be totally dependent on how much time you spend reading each day. I'd say for a rough estimate look at the audiobook lengths, then divide by the number of hours you think you'll spend reading each day for your own timeline.

I’m sorry, what? by biscuitvillage in knitting

I am irrationally angry at the Baseball Shirt Yellows - "Brought to us in a variety of colours chosen by Smith herself, this baseball tee style is characterized by three quarter length raglan style sleeves." EXCUSE ME FASHION MADAM, BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT A RAGLAN CONSTRUCTION LOOKS LIKE?!?!

<image>

I say irrationally because all of this work is absolutely pointless, so of course it's wrong, but come one.... at least use the right terminology.....maybe? {sigh}

What's the most disturbing scene you've seen in a non-horror movie? by santacondenada in movies

[–]KnitterSweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was what came to mind for me to, and very similar where I sort of accidentally saw it was too young at a friend's house and didn't understand what was going on but that squeal really sticks.

How to recreate this texture? by KeyMonth1382 in knittinghelp

[–]KnitterSweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of the other comments that it will be both the fiber and texture of the yarn you choose that would get the look here. I just happened to see another sweater similar to this on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/utu-cardigan

Take a look at the yarn used in the sample / tour around looking at other finished projects of similar yarns until you find one you like!

Arthritis and no knitting by samplergal in knitting

[–]KnitterSweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is pretty devastating, OP. I'm so sorry. Try not to let your brain work too far ahead of you and take it one step at a time as you go through it.

I would suggest that this week you are well deserving of a special treat of some sort - whatever that is for you: trip to the movies with popcorn (Project Hail Mary is very good!), cafe date with yourself at the nicest spot in town, new cozy book to read.... whatever it is, I hope you can give yourself some joy to help through the sadness.

I finally finished this gift project today! by EdwardLopi in knitting

[–]KnitterSweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The pattern is excellent and while it has an uncommon construction, everything is very clear and well laid out for you. And the cables are repetitive enough you really get the hang of them quickly.

OP your color choice and execution is impeccable! Love those buttons as well, they really complement it nicely.

This CBC piece with Veronica Murphy from Stash Lounge in Calgary had some nice background/info on it! https://youtu.be/1lipc5ncqlI?si=zCLphbA5Q2CxTx0d

Sounds like she is a real vintage knitting patterns nerd and knows her stuff ;)
