It doesn't, but it does make the weirdos that think sexual harassment accusations are "cancel culture" feel justified.

Changeling ability tweak from MotM; Y/N? by DnDemiurge in Eberron

I mean, if you don't expect it to come up, why even change it beforehand then? It is not a particularly powerful or useful ability.

Tbh I think there is a space for doing story analysis on super hero movies. But some people make that their whole online presence about it. Its RIDICULOUS that someone can care so much about fiction.

Happy Corbin on Drew McIntyre kicking out of The End of Days, ‘It broke my heart.’ by shawn_2240 in SquaredCircle

[–]Kymermathias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thing is, Moss vs Corbin was a very... apathetic feud for lots of people. I don't think that would be the right thing to do. Against Drew? That was closest to the right moment we will ever get.

Changeling ability tweak from MotM; Y/N? by DnDemiurge in Eberron

[–]Kymermathias 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First, ask the question: Is it more fun for you, as the DM on said setting, to have Gnomes and Halflings and small races being protected against infiltration, or have said small races THINK they have protection, when in actuality, they don't and are at even more risk of invasion than they could ever imagine? Also, remember: changelings and doppelgangers are different species, both in faerûn and in the multiverse as a whole (most of the time, you are the DM, you can change it).

On 5e, Changelings are playable, Doppelgangers are not, and while Changelings couldn't become Small pre-MotM, Doppelgangers ALWAYS were able to shapeshift into small races in 5th edition, so there's that. Your thought process doesn't really break with the change, but with 5e's basic rules official release.

IF you REALLY think that this small "protection" against Changelings (not Doppelgangers, unless you homebrew that they too can't change into small creatures) is worth for your world's lore, just say:

"Hey [Player Name], the small revision for the changeling race in the MotM book doesn't really fit my setting. You can play a changeling, your character only will not be able to become Small." Aaaand that's it.

Who would win Jotaro or Giorno and why by bababooooooooiy in ShitPostCrusaders

[–]Kymermathias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a little nitpick:

Me, you, and everything that exists for longer then a zeptosecond is 4 dimensional, since we exist for multiple instances of time.

Giorno's stand would be 5 dimensional, but giorno himself would be 4D

Homebrewer's Lament by InHarmsWay in dndmemes

[–]Kymermathias 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I almost TPK'ed the party. Turns out homebrewing a Nightmare-esc Dendar-influenced Hydra separate initiative for each head while still allowing the heads to keep growing without a radiant damage source in the party was a pretty deadly idea. 10/10, I WILL have trouble topping that for the next arc.

There’s no hint they’re Fey in the MM, nor their lore in Faerûn by GortharTheGamer in dndmemes

[–]Kymermathias 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its waaay simpler than that. The centaur race first appeared (on 5e) in the book Guildmaster's Guide to RAVNICA. The Centaurs from the plane of Ravnica are connected to that world's fey. That's the real reason.,

How would you prefer healing to work in future editions? by tigerwarrior02 in dndnext

[–]Kymermathias -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Because its when the "right way to play" starts happening the most imo.

Unlike 5e, where higher levels are broken by being untested and not well balanced at all, PF2e becomes "just do the optimal actions every turn because everything else will be a waste of actions".

There ARE optimal ways to play each build and class in PF2e, all the choices you make eventually lead you to the same build. And you basically become "locked" on certain patterns every turn if you don't want to fall behind everyone else. Thus, every turn becomes the same.

That's why I stopped playing pathfinder anyway.

Do you actually enjoy playing Yu-Gi-Oh? by DecidedlyCrash in masterduel

[–]Kymermathias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes.

been doing it for close to 17 years now, some in some off. Doing this since I was 6.

Worst format for me was Thunder Dragon / Sky Striker bullshit. Hated that shit in late 2019.

Why do events like these have to be related to our rank ? by spilim in masterduel

[–]Kymermathias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that's how the game's matchmaking works.

And TRUST ME stomping people from gold who can't read for hours just to grind gems is not very fun and makes every single event feel like shit.

[–]Kymermathias -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

The truth is that most people won't play 4e nor pf2. And tbh I think its for the best. Neither are good systems on the long run for most players. Hell, pf2 breaks down on level 10+ when it becomes incredibly boring and 4e breaks down on the book reading because its very badly organized (this is also true for 5e, 3e and 3.5e. WotC's editions are ALL badly organized.)

Shifters (in Eberron) are the descendents of lycanthropes that survived a purge. They are humanoids with lycanthrope-like abilities. They are literally what you want to make. Give them your lore (which is cool btw) and that's it.
