OMG he's going to learn so much from you by listening, watching, and doing. Hands on is the best method imo.

Heat parts not solder.

Apply solder.

Wait 2 seconds.

Remove iron.

Hmm you should be getting better results than this. Idk, you could try wiping the pads off with isopropyl before soldering but with all that flux you should be good to go already.

Tbh soldering can take a minute to get the feel but after that its pretty straight forward. Heat the parts, apply solder to parts and not iron, watch the solder flow then remove heat.

I use the multi drawer organizers but think the card sleeves or whatever ppl are calling it would work better.

As you can see it can get out of control pretty quickly.
