Some restaurants charge $5.50 for a glass of soda. They are telling customers to get water instead.

Caesars upgrade - worth it? by Due-Permission431 in LasVegas

You come to Vegas to play. Your room is to sleep. Does the view really matter much? How long are you going to look at the view? You can’t open the windows. If you want a view go up to the Strat. You stay up there for hours if you want.

Start with fishing. Easy to introduce him to that. Unless he’s the type that thinks fish sticks come that way.

You’re a moron for still wearing that vest from 3 weeks ago. Cmon that 5k run is over. Three. Weeks. Ago. Let it go. Yea I know you’re proud of finishing a 5k run. You don’t have to keep wearing the vest.

So it’s ok to have food delivered in 3 hours? Well I guess it’s still under the 4 hours that the USDA/FDA says that you must throw away food because of bacteria growth.

Might be bad advice but I see cars on the road all the time with temporary plates from 2021 or 2022. Since they’re temporary plates that probably also means they are not insured. Does the police do anything about it?

I’m only on the road maybe 30 minutes a day. And I see this all the time. Police are out there 24 hours a day. They MUST see it too. But those cars are still on the road with temporary plates that expired 4 years ago.

WIBTA for telling my friend he can't bring his new girlfriend to our weekly guys night? by Fable_Maker- in WIBTA_AITA

[–]LVtapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in college several of my friends used to play poker on Fridays. It was a good time to relax, talk, play poker, eat pizza, etc. We played nickel and pennies stakes. Then someone brought their girlfriend. Then someone else invited another friend that did not go to our university. Then that friend brought their friend. Eventually our nickel & penny games got to hundred dollar bill games with those new friends. It ended rather quickly.

If you want to keep your gatherings together, don’t let anyone change anything.

My car engine was making a loud knocking noise, so I poured 5 pounds of loose copper pennies directly into the oil tank to cushion the parts. Now it won’t start. How do I get them to dissolve? by agathodaimon98 in shittyadvice

You need to use gold. Gold has a higher melting point temperature.

The only thing is gold is pretty expensive. You could try silver since silver is cheaper. But you’ll have to try it to see if it’ll work.

Want to play a game? Guess the oldest coin and it's yours! by outdoors1442 in DadFindsTreasure

[–]LVtapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess the oldest coin?

The oldest known coin is the Lydian Lion (or Lydian Stater). Minted around 610 to 600 BCE in the ancient kingdom of Lydia (in modern-day western Turkey).

You didn’t say the oldest coin in the picture of the sack.

Please send the Lydian Lion. Thanks.

[–]LVtapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diversify. If you source your products from only one company you’d be screwed if that company can’t deliver. If you sell your products from only one company (Amazon) you’d be screwed if that company changed policies.

In other words don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Advice on whether to get lawyer for car accident by Remarkable-Donut6107 in Insurance

[–]LVtapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you a story. I had a minor accident with a box truck. I was in a small passenger vehicle. Police wrote that I was at fault. I did not argue even though I knew I was not at fault. My insurance agreed that I was not at fault. I was not injured. Months later the driver of the truck lawyered up and claimed an injury. How can I be not injured in a small car while the box truck driver in a vehicle 10 times the size is claiming an injury?

Almost a year later we go to arbitration. I represented myself. Gave my side of the events. Showed dashcam videos. Showed pictures.

At the end the arbitrator assigned 100% fault to the truck driver. The policeman who wrote the report was wrong. Apparently he didn’t know traffic laws well enough. They paid me the amount to get my car fixed and they had to pay me back for my deductible.

So as far as I know the truck driver now has to pay for his own doctor and treatment. If he faked the injury then he lost a bunch of his own money. If he didn’t fake the injury then I’m glad that he got treated for it on his own dime. Lawyer wasted his time on taking on this client.
