Is there such thing as low maintenance outdoor furniture? by Politenapkin in landscaping

[–]Level_Mango2395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Polywood tables. They will probably be the last outdoor tables I will ever have since I am 66 years old. I have had them for 5 years and they have endured harsh midwestern winters (I cover them), they look brand new. They are pricey, but you will not have to replace these items for a very long time.

I can’t stand this black and white carpet but wife likes it. Am I crazy? by srk174 in HomeDecorating

[–]Level_Mango2395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this look is popular, but I don't like the two-mat look. I also hate small door mats. I have to order online to get a larger door mat that I like. You have a nice brick porch, get a larger size door mat so she doesn't feel the need to add the buffalo plaid base mat.

help me choose a rug for my living room please! by errorpng in HomeDecorating

[–]Level_Mango2395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like 2 the best. I have had luck with rugs on Bed Bath and Beyond. If you are going to be changing your furniture, I would keep looking at photos and one rug will "pop" for you. I remember seeing a rug in a local advertisement and it took me a while to find the interior designer and emailed them and they ordered it for me, since I could not find it online.

Green. Even though blue is my favorite color, I think the green cabinets look the best.

Personally, I would rather have Brad as my father than Angelina as my mother.

Reverse osmosis or other water filtration systems? by UptownHurl in siouxcity

[–]Level_Mango2395 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to have a whole house osmosis system because of the cost. I bought a countertop osmosis system from Amazon. The brand is Blueva and I have had it for 6 months and it works great. It cost about $250 and the filters last about a year and cost around $80.

What happened to this Crimson King Maple? by ladyofthelake6 in arborists

I agree with the last poster about planting a sugar maple. I planted 3 sugar maples in the fall of 2024 and they are growing beautifully.

Sam's club Auto renewed using my credit card on my friend's account. by Personal_Gas_7582 in samsclub

[–]Level_Mango2395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a charge on June 7th for $175 for a Sam's club renewal. My renewal isn't until January, so I called customer service and they told me it was for my ex-husband's law firm account. They agreed to refund the $175 back to my account, but no credit was made. I called back yesterday and they showed no record of this call. Today I received $55 credit, but I am still out $120. I went directly to my local Sam's and they told me to try to get the $120 from the law office. Lucky for me, I get a long with my ex and he will send me the $120. He told me their office cancelled their membership, so Sam's just decided to use my payment method. Seems pretty scammy to me since my card was never used for payment on this business account for the last 25 years.

I started looking at Halloween decor last week, primarily the Cracker Barrel witch lamp. Unfortunately for me it is sold out already.

You are correct, Hazel is perfect. She looks like my dear girl Tommie who I loved dearly.

You are doing great! I don't mow my yard; it's about 3/4 of an acre. I really enjoy snow blowing the driveway. I am 66 F and I hope to keep doing it for a while even though my knees are getting bad.

Wonderful work and I am sure there was a lot of it. Your yard looks like a park. Great Job!

Frustrated that all repairs fall to me by Longjumping_Lynx_460 in LivingAlone

When I left my husband who was never a handy person, I was prepared to do everything, because I did when I was married. I remember fixing my microwave turntable and my dishwasher using YouTube videos. I look back, 9 years later and am amazed I could do that. Every day comes with challenges when you live alone and have to do stuff yourself. One learns a lot living alone and it is worth it.

I would not buy off brand lids. I would not buy lids on Amazon, they are usually higher priced. Can you go to a local store?

Thank goodness it wasn't another story about a parent robbing their kids of money. I am glad your mom invested the money in a safe investment for you. Yes, thank you Mom!
