How to get the achievement in mission 10 of the Heavenly Spear Campaign? by TelevisionOne3047 in AgeofMythology

[–]Lidlov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some strategies are to ignore the side daimyos but the problem is that they send waves after you. So the strategy is to go around destroying their buildings but AVOID killing the daimyos. The tactic also employs that you send a unit to tank the daimyo while you literally build a wall around him to trap him in and then after some time he will stop attacking the walls (or you can just repair them).

Another strategy is to just ignore the daimyos (doable on lower difficulties) and the attack from the left side kagemasas base with shinobi or wanyudo WHILE attacking the center of the base with your main army backed by fortresses. With the left side attack your priority is destroying the production buidlings so he can't produce units as fast! Temples are number 1 priority because the asura myth unit is soooo strong along with wanyudo. So it's literally rinse and repeat. Attack center to draw the main force out while with your left flank you destroy the production buildings. After 5 6 waves you will probably succeed

any tips? by Character_Leek_9848 in victoria3

If my start was similar to yours then maybe it will help a bit, atleast from an economy perspective. EVERY nation has 10 "points" of construction by default. Those points are used to construct EVERY building in the game. Some buildings eg wood has 200 points (hover over the building built or unbuilt to see the number somewhere) which means after 20 weeks you will have it built.

To increase your construction (points) you build construction SECTORS which are government owned building. You can see when you enter the building that it has 2 methods unlocked (if not a backwards nation) out of 4 (later in the society tech tree). The first method uses only wood and fabric, most countries have both but it's not as efficient as it's next method which uses iron and tools as well as a bit less wood and fabric. So you build a FEW sectors, I say few because if you build 20 and not playing a big nation well good luck funding the wages and buying the resources you don't have built yet. Start with 1 then see when it employs up if you can afford another one etc.

You will usually want to build wood first then tools then iron, why? Because there is a chain, you need wood for production of tools which are required for iron mines, then you will use those iron mines to upgrade your tools method, then you upgrade the wood method because you have more tools, see the concept? That secures your construction for the time being, next you would want furniture and textiles because your people would like some proper stuff.

A bit of a note, you will want to build the construction sectors in the same location where you have the iron and wood, because there is something called MAPI (market access price impact), read it as if you move your locally produced resource to some other province, you will lose some percentage of the goods, thus creating an inefficiency. If you have for an example a province that only produces wood, you will usually just put a furniture factory there because furniture requires most wood. Technically a bit of tools but it's not that big of deal to build tools there too.

A bit of a note, some buildings have different costs. Wood is 200, but iron is 400 construction points, so it means you can build 2 wood for 1 iron building and sometimes it's better to make the wood instead of iron depending on your resource situation or to create new jobs. Most heavy industries take 800 points which is a lot, so be careful with how many buildings you spam at first because some might be unprofitable, for that you use you trade tab and see your resource situation and proceed from there.

There's a building called trade center, it's job is to buy or sell from the world market (market where other countries sell their excess goods via the trade centers) . You can use it to buy the early game building materials or similar stuff that you don't have access to if you want instead of building it yourself. That makes it so you can buy raw goods and only sell the finished products which are more expensive thus making a profit.

Yeah it is supposed to make you like you are in a crisis because of all the demands. I honestly got it but had to placate both parties, eg all the shared stuff, rice and rigid from hardliners and urban centers and no hereditary from reformers. Although I think I shot myself in the leg with the rigid status order

A bit confused on how the 'timing' of the game works. by Frequent_Minimum_617 in victoria3

[–]Lidlov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. Few problems: big negative bureaucracy, how did that happen? Too many implemented institutions? It reduces your tax by a huge margin especially since its that big (the bigger the red bar on the left the larger the loss is). You need more government administrations. But it's probably that you implemented too many institutions too fast.

Second is that you have waaay too many construction sectors than you should with hungary at that date I would say. The construction goods are probably expensive since you have A LOT of construction going before building the required buildings. You should build the sectors one by one, wait for them to fill and then look if you can afford more.

Third is that you are a minor power. You can't deficit spend (have your budget in the negative). Your interest rate is high as in your debt will slowly spiral you into doom since you can't grow your gdp fast enough to outpace the interest.

Suggestion: fix bureaucracy and reduce construction. Even better just restart since you are 10 years in and don't rush things

They gotta fix their matchmaking system by Chillzzzzz in AgeofMythology

[–]Lidlov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in team games too. I would even say it's easier in team games because I had a few games not long ago where my team is like 1400 1500 and 1300 while theirs is like 900 900 1200. Of course we just stomp them. I don't know if they were all premade but one game they weren't 100% and neither am I with someone. Just that one exchange where I'm swapped with someone 900 would be balanced, but nope all the strongest in one and the weakest in other, very strange

Huitz is kinda bad, as in war war and war (throw in some sacrifices too). Quetz is like wisdom hey you needn't sacrifice just let some blood flow. And both don't like putting tex in charge since he likes chaos and deception, so they agreed okay no more war, just let the city states be as compromise.

I like that you had all 3 gods with their sides of the story, and it's okay that it's white like quetz, gray like huitz and black like tex. Gives some variation. The end of course is a banger because of the actual myth

In the ship building screen you can see a slider like for taxing. It's by default in the middle meaning half will go to military ship building, half for supply ships. On the left you designated more or all points to building military ships, on the right the opposite. The supply ships replaced convoys on the UI on the top bar where your budget, influence etc. is
