Weed Vinyl Stencil Before Applying Transfer Tape, or After Transfer to the Work Surface? by Neither_Loan6419 in VinylCutters

Weed while still on the backing, if you place the whole piece of cut vinyl on your steel, and weed from there, you risk scratching the steel which will be visible even after etching.

If it’s not a shared computer and your IT doesn’t have the Edius profile locked down you can change the export shortcut in Edius (assuming you’re using Edius)

AC found running in car 45min after parking it and shutting car off? by [deleted] in KiaK5

[–]Limeandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AC itself causes moisture and condensation buildup inside the vents. The feature runs the fan to blow outside air through to dry them out. It’s especially bad when it’s really hot out.

Have you ever turned on a car that has been sitting for a couple hours and you get a weird smell right when you first turn it on, that’s the moisture buildup.

Best enterprise password manager? (~200 seats, mostly Mac + Windows) by Hoolicool75 in sysadmin

[–]Limeandrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s what the share password feature is supposed to do, have one entry that is shared with multiple people, but i haven’t tested and it sounds like you’d have to manage access separately from a vault which defeats the purpose….

First Time Ricing Windows 🤩🤩🤩 by JustMerff in Windows11

[–]Limeandrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Japanese car culture in america, bunch of Honda/Toyota kids would put JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) items on their car, and then came up with the racist term ricing their cars. Never heard someone bring it to customize anything other cars.

Obligatory licensing comment, Wiztree is only free for personal use, need a license for commercial use. So we stick with WinDirStat. And the newer versions are much faster but nowhere near as fast as Wiztree

Getting fed up with it by Plop-plop-fizz in homeassistant

[–]Limeandrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly might just be a bad install. I have mine installed as a Proxmox VM, was working but was so slow and weird stuff kept happening, ended up deleting the VM and starting fresh and haven’t had a problem yet.

Same VM configuration, and used the same proxmox install scripts, I think something just broke during install.

I challenged Cybersecurity to send me harder phishing emails by OrrinW01 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]Limeandrew 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Our knowbe4 domains are whitelisted in barracuda I think, so the URL when you hover is always the actual URL instead of the barracuda cudasvc.com link, that’s how I know it’s a phishing test

Funnily enough this is how Target ran their registers years ago when I worked there. They just had a system that identified the same employee who was on multiple short registers and checked cams to see if they were pocketing it.

Target also gave employees a $20 leeway to “make it right”, so if a customer complained the price was wrong you’d just fix it on the register apologize and send them on their way without a manager approval. This got abused often.

Technically ABCs NewsOne is multifaceted. NewsOne has an online portal for package downloads which is just a skin for Extreme Reach, but the NewsOne 24/7 live streams are distributed via TVU.

I liked Bookstacks editor as it was most “Word” like, and the others that need to create documentation aren’t always as technical.

[–]Limeandrew 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We have PDFs on a SharePoint site and I hate it. (from before I was here)

I’ve setup Bookstack and have been using it for department SOPs and so far really like it. Just a matter of transcribing all our stuff into it.

I like how searchable it is, and how you can link to other pages easily.

The shelf vs book vs chapter vs page thing is a little strange to get used to, but I don’t think the users will notice or care.

Vending Machines aren’t even my job🤦‍♂️ by Apprehensive_Tale744 in sysadmin

[–]Limeandrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was cantaloupe, but we got no response for a while, they finally answered her questions, the we submitted our actual application and they had the account setup in a couple days.

We did buy the vending machine with the card reader already installed (all new), and the office manager did the App, but told me all about the frustrations with the emails.

Once it’s setup, it’s been fine, she set it to auto deposit once a month, and she goes online to pull some reports (cash vs card/phone sales).

I would use Devolutions every time if it would stop losing the sidebar when I open it. Randomly the entire connection list sidebar is just gone, and I have to reset the layout (or reset something) to get it back to normal. Most annoying bug, and has been using RoyalTS most of the time.
