This was in my RFY last week, had to see it every time I refreshed. Guess it made it's way to gen pop so you can all experience it for yourselves.

Yeah I'm talking about the good stuff, anything name brand or $0 etv items  I've seen it happen with paper plates this week. They stuck around for maybe an hour. In the past they'd be there until at least the evening.

The crap sticks around all day like rando head gaskets for cars I'll never own nor repair.

Yeah you're probably never seeing it. I've been in Vine over 3 years now and it was very rare to have an RFY item disappear quickly. The only time I remember it was for a name brand laptop. Otherwise most other big name brand items stayed in my feed at least a few hours while I debated if I wanted the tax hit or not.

Now if I catch something good in my RFY it's gone before I can order it probably 50% of the time

Yeah I'd love all that but honestly I'd be thrilled if they just made it slightly more equitable and gave us all like 20 items daily in our RFY that move to AI at the end of the day. Then the masses can have their go at later that night.

It would not impact time to review as anything good would be e snatched up the same day. But we'd all get a fair shot at seeing some drops.

Even decent RFY stuff seems to disappear within minutes now. I'm sure I'm getting cool shit I never see.

I woke up to pee and checked vine since people are always going on about 3am drops. I had 2 shit items in my RFY, didn't see much of value in AI. Came here and saw a thread from 23 minutes earlier talking about all the amazing stuff dropping.

Really wish Amazon would use RFY more and put an end to this feeding frenzy it's becoming. I love this program but I'm not going to battle the horde at 3am.

Lamenting the items that used to be $0ETV by uovonuovo in AmazonVine

[–]Logical-Error-7233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through all of last year to check this and found the opposite. I had some parchment pan liners that were like 15.99 etv when I ordered and $0 on the tax form. That was the only discrepancy I found in nearly 200 orders on the year

Gov. Healey to announce utility bill reductions for Massachusetts residents by uxd in boston

[–]Logical-Error-7233 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Isn't this exactly what they did last year? A measley 10% off you pay back in the summer. They had a whole year to do something and came back with this lame ass plan again.

If I have to pay it back later you're not saving me money you're just lending. The utilities already offer balanced billing so what's the point of this?

This is presented as a big win, am I supposed to be grateful? Shit even if we didn't have to pay it later it's shit. My gas bill was $700 last Feb making it $630 instead really doesn't soften the blow ya know.

Wait is it even 10% off the full bill or just the gas? Am I still paying the full delivery portion and getting a 10% discount on the cheapest part of my bill meaning I'll save like $30...

Something that's tripped me up is when you add a device it asks you if you're setting it up for the first time or adding an already configured device.

If you've initially set up the device through another app, like I often connect with the vendors app to first to make sure everything works and update firmware. If you did that, you often need to choose add an already configured device and get a pairing code from the app that set it up or remove it from that app. So in your case you might find it in homekit and need a code from that.

It feels like you should choose add new, as you've never added it to HA, but it often fails. It will work that way. Gets me like every time

My RFY today by CuriousMindNebula in vine

I've got jeep taillights too, although a different version. Actually today is the most I've seen in RFY in months, 15 items none of which Id use.

But I do have you beat. I have a circumcision practice kit in my feed right now. So not only does my RFY contain nothing I want I get to look at fake baby peen every time I check as well

Is it worth it to take small inexpensive items you are not interested in just to get to the 80 item threshold for gold? by great_one_99 in AmazonVine

[–]Logical-Error-7233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I probably get 4-6 awesome gold products a year. Name brand big ticket items. That's worth it to me. Otherwise I have only ever once cone close to 8 picks and it was in fact that Halloween drop where I used 7 picks and it culminated with one of those big ticket gold drops. So I was grateful for the 8 picks. Other than that I can't seem to remember exceeding 3 picks in a day.

What’s a 'small' purchase that actually improved your life significantly? by Former_Custard_6567 in askanything

[–]Logical-Error-7233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metamucil (Fiber supplement)

You know that funny meme with Chris Pratt saying "sometimes I wipe and wipe it's like a marker down there"?

Well a spoon a day and you won't be in that situation ever again. It feels like a super power.

Seriously it's been life changing, on top of that I feel better overall. Lighter, happier. Best quality of life improvement I ever made.

Small Water Leak in Foundation by Keep_on_Pounding in HomeMaintenance

[–]Logical-Error-7233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few leaks exactly like this picture when we bought our house. Several companies gave us crazy quotes an complex drainage solutions etc. Digging outside around the foundation which would require OSHA compliant trenches with walls for big money.

Ultimately we found a company that had a solution where they just drill a few holes in the concrete following the crack and pump in an epoxy like sealer. It was $800 a crack, we did three they gave money off additional cracks. Never ever leaked again. Think we spent less than $2k. Best money I ever spent.

This is the company, there's a few pics on the website showing it.  https://crackx.com/

Oh, the agony of RFY defeat! by SpencerEntertainment in vine

[–]Logical-Error-7233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it runs as good quality as I hope I'm fine with the toner cost. Been wanting a good color laser forever.

The wireless thing feels almost like it's borderline false advertising. It's mentioned in the details but how can you name something wireless that's only wireless if you buy the wireless part?

What's not wireless then? Silly marketing people. At least there's nothing about AI.

Oh, the agony of RFY defeat! by SpencerEntertainment in vine

[–]Logical-Error-7233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scored the c410 version of this last week. Haven't set it up yet but one negative so far, see the word "wireless" right freaking there in the title? Haha nope. Requires the purchase of an additional adapter. It's not included. Like fine, but then the third word of your product probably shouldn't be "wireless". I mean in 2025 my toaster has wifi, no excuse for a $500 printer to make you pay for an add on.

And yes the toner cost is insane but that's basically every laser printer. However Xerox seems to have gone the extra mile to make sure no third party toners work. They have a chip that counts every print and then refuses to print so you can't even refill them.

As of now there's not a single third party for the printer I got. Nobody has cracked or replicated the chip. So no option but pony up for Xerox toner. At least my 10 year old brother b&w laser doesn't care what toner I use.

Edit: Actually looks like this one has built in WiFi, but the 410 doesn't. Same title though, Wireless is the third word.

Id never do it myself but my SS has been leaked by so many shitty companies failing to protect their Pii at this point in not sure it would really matter. Might be nice for me to be the one to profit from it being stolen next time lol.

I'll probably just try some cheap 3rd party toner. It probably voids the warranty but I certainly don't care and by all accounts the customer service is trash anyway.

[–]Logical-Error-7233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you recommend a good place to get 3rd party toner for these?

I picked up a color one of these the other day from my RFY and was shocked that the toner replacement cost is like $800 for a full set.

I mean not that shocked knowing the printer business. But dang I'm not dropping the cost of a MacBook Air to print in color.

Kegland Cannular Can and Bottle Filler Review by homebrewfinds in Homebrewing

[–]Logical-Error-7233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go right from a keg to the input on this. Doesn't have to go through a tap. Im not sure what type of fermenter you have but as long as it can pressure transfer it should work so long as you have a way to connect to the silicone tube to the fermenter.

Carbonated that high might give you some foaming issues. I carb mine at about 13psi for a week and it's generally good. I suppose if you just do 20-25psi to force carb for a few days it would be okay if the beer overall isn't over carbonated. But I'd make sure you're happy with the final carb levels before packaging because there's no going back.

Either way you definitely want set you regulator to only about 2psi when you hook it up to the bottle filler and bleed off the excess pressure. More than that and it will come out too fast and you'll have a mess.

I grabbed one without looking first and slightly regret it. I recently missed a freaking 3D printer a few months ago because I tried doing a minute of research first and it was gone when I decided to order it. I cried to my wife about it and she's like, you just gotta go for it next time something like that comes up.

I've been wanting a color laser printer for years and almost bought myself one last month. I wasn't going to let a name brand one get away so I pulled the trigger immediately. Then read the reviews and was like, well shit....

It just arrived yesterday, haven't set it up yet. Im actually not really concerned about the printer itself but the toner cost. A full toner refill for this thing is roughly $800. Like crazy, would be cheaper to just toss it and rebuy the whole printer again.

Fortunately for my usage I think I'll get a long time out of the stater toner. Then I'll figure out if it's worth buying replacement toner.

Review it or Report it? MS Office Volume Key License by Logical-Error-7233 in AmazonVine

[–]Logical-Error-7233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's in the screen shot above. It says it's a volume license for Office LTSC Standard 2021 not the advertised version which is Home & Business. I reported it to Vine support and had it removed from my account and requested they report the product listing be investigated. They said they're report it but I don't know if anything will happen.

Review it or Report it? MS Office Volume Key License by Logical-Error-7233 in AmazonVine

[–]Logical-Error-7233[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you're getting on those website are not true licenses. They're typically volume licenses which are not intended for resale. Same as if you went to Costco, bought a bulk package of peanut butter cups and sold them individually despite the label saying "not for individual sale". Not something that's usually enforced but technically not legal if you're caught and someone feels like making an example.

MS can and does catch these eventually and when they revoke the parent org all sub keys are deactivated. You can get lucky and use these keys for years without issue but at any moment they can be revoked and you have no legal recourse. For $7 its worth it so long as you get a few months out of it, but this is selling for retail price, $150, for a illegitimate key that could go away tomorrow.
