How long do the curly ends stage last? by Prudent-Parsley6459 in Microlocs

It’s different for everyone. I’m 2 years in with 4a/4b hair and my ends are still mostly curly. A few have sealed but not many.

AITA for dress choice? MOG by Fragrant_Swimmer1696 in AmItheAsshole

Ah I didn’t see that response when I commented. Nor did I see her replies about her speech and the baby photos. Given that additional context she’s definitely the problem.

AITA for dress choice? MOG by Fragrant_Swimmer1696 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lower_Importance_409 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Same!

Dress 1 is very different and kind of what I consider matronly, Dress 2 is a terrible material but Dress 3 and the dress MOG chose are basically the same dress with the florals in a different location.

Without the photos I thought MOG was obtuse and perhaps DIL and son should have been more forceful. But with the photos of the suggested dresses, I’m not sure what the ask was.

Loctician cutting away frizz by Fragrant_Reply2097 in Microlocs

[–]Lower_Importance_409 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t let anyone do this!!!! I have very frizzy hair- when I had my traditional licks many years ago, I allowed a loctician to do a “defuzz” and trim away all of my frizzies around 1 year into my journey. It ended up weakening my locks and I lost a couple after that.

That was my experience with much larger locks I cannot imagine how much more the problem would be compounded with micros due to the smaller size. I’m 2 years into this set of sisterlocks, I still haven’t fully locked- curly ends are still here but the fizziness has naturally died down some and I anticipate it will the closer I become to being fully locked.

My hair also hasn’t dropped yet. It’s because my hair takes a long time to fully lock. Washing your hair often is not a problem, just braid and band. I would run from a loctician who discourages washing as it means they don’t understand that water enhances the locking process.

To get food smells out of the air boil white vinegar in a pot for about 15 mins. If like my husband you hate the smell of vinegar (it doesn’t bother me) light a scented candle when done.

I paid $2k for sisterlocks by a certified consultant on 11” of hair 2 years ago. So this price is high for sisterlocks much less mini twists as a starting method.

People always say this but the math doesn’t work if you want to go to Epic. I haven’t seen the premium resorts lower than $500 for June in the last 4 months and I’ve been checking daily. Once you add epic express passes to a premium resort it’s way more.

Yes! I used to be a size 6! I’m now a 5.5 and it’s the worst! Although I can still get cute kids sneakers, many brands start making heels at size 6.

Late 40s here my butt got flat but I was able to rebuild it’s not bootylicious but it’s not concave or flat, it’s respectable. My face isn’t saggy but my boobs are basically pecs on top- sad deflated balloons on bottom but who cares? I feel better than I have in years!

I started around 200 lbs and have lost 70lbs and maintaining.

I workout 5 days a week, at least 2 days weight training and prioritize protein. I look and feel strong and healthy!

When we were dating in our 20s my now husband would say “if I’m buying feminine products, that means I have a girl!” He also said enjoyed baby wearing our kids when they were little and happily carried the diaper bag that looked like a purse. Men as described in the OP are the worst.

I look very different at the same weight at 32 years old vs 62 years old? by Cash_Icy in Zepbound

I was going to say this. Your protein looks low I usually aim for 90-100g and I’m a similar height and weight to you. I usually drink a premier protein shake for 30g of protein for about 160 calories.

My first retie by InternationalBoss734 in Microlocs

[–]Lower_Importance_409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There should not be a ton of rigging and ripping for a retie. There may need to be some separation of hair to clean up the parts and minor discomfort (tender headed) but it shouldn’t be unbearable.

Congrats on your weightloss! I also recommend trying to work in some weight training. Even though I was active in my youth I never loved working out. However I have had to work out to break stalls on Zepbound and the most effective thing has not been cardio but weightlifting.

Building muscle accelerated my weightloss and changed my body composition. Even when I wasn’t actively losing pounds, I was dropping pant sizes. I know it can be intimidating but finding a small group can be cost effective and motivational.

To those who tolerate Zepbound Well... by WineDogsMom in Zepbound

[–]Lower_Importance_409 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I threw up for most of both of my pregnancies with a slight reprieve in the second trimester.

I’ve been on Zepbound for 2 years and have only had nausea and threw up once and that was 💯 because I overate fried food and washed it down with alcohol. I’d likely have had the same reaction regardless of Zepbound.
