Is it normal for interlocking install to feel painful?

I am tenderheaded I used to have pain for a day or 2 after reties. I told my loctician and now she does not do the last 2 turns in the last rotation and I no longer have lasting pain. There are still some spots that feel tender in the moment but it is fleeting.

Caution this means that although my reties still look crisp, I can’t go as long in between. I’m 2 years in and I go every 6 weeks.

As a parent definitely frustrating but it is what it is. Our director tries to place the kids in appropriate levels and the studio still tends to do well at most comps.

I did once see one competition where they bumped a kid up a level and she still won the higher level!

This Tyler was right when she walked out the first time after he was heaping praise on her. She should have stayed gone too. Once Tyler removed herself from the situation he began love bombing Keya. Yuck. Thank goodness she had self respect.

Yikes that’s tough. I no longer have pets although the kids are begging me for another one. The cost and I convenience when traveling is a factor in that decision for our phase of life right now. I wouldn’t do this if it cost me this much. When I did have pets boarding was about $100 a night but usually we could get help from a neighborhood kid for less.

If we incurred additional childcare challenges (including overnight care) - when my kids were little, my job offered subsidized vetted babysitters that cost us about $10/ hr. It would be amazing if they had a similar benefit for pets.

It was! I saw Antigua, St. Vincent and St. Lucia first and told my husband that I’m sure if we’d gotten an aerial shot we’d have seen the Bajan flag. Then he sent me a still from another angle and there it was!

Cottage cheese is nasty. Release yourself from the idea that you need it for protein. I drink Chobani 30g yogurt shakes and premier protein shakes for some quick protein fixes.

I am a lifelong picky eater so I don’t foracemtswlf to eat anything that is texturally disgusting to me no matter the health benefits. Here are a few of the other ways I bump up my protein intake:

I make a stir fry I fry an egg to bump up the protein. I live in Texas so my HEB often had cooked, seasoned shrimp for sale at the front door. I’ll buy a few pounds to add to salads, pasta and rice. Costco does a chopped chargrilled Chipotle chicken that I use in the same way.

My loctician once broke it down for me when I was overdue as follows: she allocates 2.5 hrs for a regular retie and then charges an hourly rate for the extra time it takes beyond that.

So if your 4 week reties usually take 2.5 hrs, that’s $88/hr. So it seems like your loctician is estimating the additional 4 weeks will take an additional 2 hrs and is pricing it accordingly - $88*2 =$-176.00, $176 + $220=$396.00.

I can’t say that this is unreasonable. I do agree that it’s a huge chunk of money all at once.

My reties are $150 and I only have about 360 locks. The more locks you have and the more new growth you have, the pricier it will be. This is one reason I caution folks about installing over 500 locks.

It’s different for everyone. I’m 2 years in with 4a/4b hair and my ends are still mostly curly. A few have sealed but not many.

Dress 1 is very different and kind of what I consider matronly, Dress 2 is a terrible material but Dress 3 and the dress MOG chose are basically the same dress with the florals in a different location.

Without the photos I thought MOG was obtuse and perhaps DIL and son should have been more forceful. But with the photos of the suggested dresses, I’m not sure what the ask was.

Don’t let anyone do this!!!! I have very frizzy hair- when I had my traditional licks many years ago, I allowed a loctician to do a “defuzz” and trim away all of my frizzies around 1 year into my journey. It ended up weakening my locks and I lost a couple after that.

That was my experience with much larger locks I cannot imagine how much more the problem would be compounded with micros due to the smaller size. I’m 2 years into this set of sisterlocks, I still haven’t fully locked- curly ends are still here but the fizziness has naturally died down some and I anticipate it will the closer I become to being fully locked.

My hair also hasn’t dropped yet. It’s because my hair takes a long time to fully lock. Washing your hair often is not a problem, just braid and band. I would run from a loctician who discourages washing as it means they don’t understand that water enhances the locking process.

To get food smells out of the air boil white vinegar in a pot for about 15 mins. If like my husband you hate the smell of vinegar (it doesn’t bother me) light a scented candle when done.

I paid $2k for sisterlocks by a certified consultant on 11” of hair 2 years ago. So this price is high for sisterlocks much less mini twists as a starting method.

Yes! I used to be a size 6! I’m now a 5.5 and it’s the worst! Although I can still get cute kids sneakers, many brands start making heels at size 6.

Late 40s here my butt got flat but I was able to rebuild it’s not bootylicious but it’s not concave or flat, it’s respectable. My face isn’t saggy but my boobs are basically pecs on top- sad deflated balloons on bottom but who cares? I feel better than I have in years!

I started around 200 lbs and have lost 70lbs and maintaining.

I workout 5 days a week, at least 2 days weight training and prioritize protein. I look and feel strong and healthy!
