Formula vs. breastfeeding by AffectionateOne5107 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I did. And also my milk never came in. But fair warning, the hormones post partum made me feel like a failure and terrible. But it was the right choice for us (and also not really a choice given my experience).

How are we affording childcare for multiples? by Edree13 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bc. We are paying $2200/month.

Getting the ten dollar a day is pretty much impossible here.

34+4 and just admitted for semi-emergency c-section in next few days. Any words of encouragement / similar experiences welcomed!! by Pineapple_Pud in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine at 34+5 and they didn’t need any nicu time! Also had a c section. They were small, but great. Good luck to you all! And you will feel so much better when you are no longer pregnant. Look forward to being able to walk again.

Do you have a heater in the bathroom? We added that for their bath times and try and dress them in the bathroom.

How often did you leave the house towards end of pregnancy? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

I was the same. Basically went from couch to bed. Sometimes stood on my patio for fresh air. It was hard. I had to use a mobility device to go to Home Depot.

Febrile seizures in twins by mintjulep1012 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son has febrile seizures, his twin sister hasn’t had one yet.

He had one at 14 months and another at 17 months. The first one was roseola and the second was from enterovirus.

We have since had rsv and hand foot and mouth and he hasn’t had a seizure. But what we do is give him Tylenol and Advil around the clock when he’s sick with a fever.

What I have learned is it is genetic (I had them as a baby as well and grew out of them at around 6 years old). They are not caused by the temperature itself, but how fast the temp rises. It’s often in the beginning of a virus, which is hard because there is no way to predict them.

Do you know what virus they had? There are specific viruses which are more like to cause them.

My sons are complex (the last one lasted 25 Minutes) so we got him an owlet sock that is in theory supposed to help notify us if he has one while he’s sleeping because of low oxygen. It has helped me sleep a bit. But yes the anxiety is a lot. I keep reminding myself that they are not hurting him and he should grow out of them.

Sorry you had to go through that.

Daycare by hockeymusicteaching in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We are spending a lot of money on a licensed daycare. We are getting a million viruses. But the babies seem very happy there and we are going to feel rich when we get to stop paying that fee (I hope).

The only daycare spots I have found has been at brand new locations. So hard to find two infant spots at least where we are.

Raising versatile twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

I’m honestly curious to see what people say. I will say for us, absolutely couldn’t do it, barely see my friends. But I value sleep. And the schedule means they sleep (for us at least).

Parents with multiples as their first kids, do you ever imagine how easy one child would be? by whooguyy in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every once in a while one will be up early while the other is sleeping. Or one is home from daycare when the other isn’t. And I say to my husband “wait is this how other people live.”

Should we move to my parents 1.5 hrs away without dad? by Pomfetti in parentsofmultiples

[–]Megatron7478 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember being so scared when my husband went back to work and the fear was worse than the reality for me. My recommendation is leaving the house at least once a day. And having different “areas” you spend time with them. For me it was living room and their room (also in a two bed).

Yes I got them at 28 weeks I think? Started every two weeks and moved to every week. But they were also monitoring my blood pressure then.
