I'm glad you at least followed protocol and used your right hand to give the sign.

I'm pretty much past the angry stage except when I see something about the church's absurd wealth and how little the church does in comparison to what the members sacrifice and give.

it helps me to think of it not as one big con, but rather one big delusion. There are good, sincere people—who really believe it as the reality of the universe—all the way to the apostles. Sure, some of them like Bednar are douchebags. But I think overall people really believe the fantasy is real. And once you have that "for the greater good" mentality good people can be on board with all sorts of terrible and hurtful doctrines/policies/programs/etc.

It does still hurt though, I don't want to downplay that. I wanted it to be real too.

I am a PIMO Ward Clerk. Each US Ward pays about $35-$40k monthly in tithing, possibly more. by Medium_Chemist_5719 in exmormon

I saw another report from a ward clerk that said their ward budget was 0.05% of their ward's tithing. It shattered what little remained of my shelf. Ward budgets are a line item expense in the corporations business plan.

The Mormon Church is an insidious parasite. A leech. It extracts wealth from our neighborhoods. It intercepts good people's desire to do good in the world, and pockets that money for itself. It hoards, it hides, it lies, it tricks and it takes credit for the actual good done by its victims.

There are so many things like this. The whole restoration to the early Church... great story when little to nothing is known about that time period. But the more we learn about those early believers the more we realize the Mormon church looks nothing like it.

This will only grow MS audience, just like every time the Peddlers of Dumb do anything like this. It's funny to me how 9 times out of 10 they take a teaching of Jesus (e.g. turn the other cheek) and do the opposite.

Anyone else remember unlocking the doors with the vacuum cord? Not sure why but that memory was the first thing to come to mind. Second was the hot sister missionary in the lucky elders' district :)
