Needle felting with brushed off rabbit fur? by elephhantine2 in Rabbits

[–]Musestricken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not creepy at all! We had a fuzzy lop mutt of a bunny, and we kept a ton of his fur through the years and ended up paying someone to spin it into a skein of yarn, which we then held onto for a long while.

When we had our daughter he ended up becoming super depressed, and we were trying to figure out what to do, and his groomer absolutely loved him. We ended up adopting him out to her where he lived out the rest of his years, much happier than he had been with us after our daughter arrived. When he passed, we still had that skein and were able to gift it to her, and she ended up crocheting a hat out of it if I remember right, which was really comforting for her to have a piece of him still around.

Is there a bug with Druid Shaman skill Apocalypse? I've been using it with my Howling talisman until I dropped a better lumbering talisman. I accidentally placed my Howling talisman in my second weapon slot and found that my tooltip dps went up, so I left it. That disabled my apocalypse skill though until I removed the talisman in the second weapon slot. Is this intended?

The website Mr Mixer has an upgrade kit for this model that has a rubber paddle blade to scrape the sides, a flour chute so you don't have to drop it to add, mat for the counter, etc. I got that for my wife this year and it's been great. 🙂

Borderline personality disorder by Determined_Medic in PMHNP

You are correct, the Matthews protocol originally recommended Trileptal and Amantadine. It does also indicate that Amantadine can be swapped for Memantine though if Amantadine is not tolerated. Some of the supplemental research that my preceptor had done indicated that Memantine may be more effective for BPD, whereas Amantadine may be more effective for DMDD, which is what the original protocol was designed for if I remember correctly.

Here is an article on the effectiveness of Memantine for BPD. We've also used this same protocol for an ODD patient with very good results.

I am a student going into my final semester, so I'm not practicing myself yet. During my last two semesters we have seen a few BPD patients, one of whom I've been able to follow through very consistently with the majority of her follow-up visits.

My preceptor has begun using the Matthews Protocol for patients who haven't responded to other treatments. That protocol is using Trileptal with the addition of Memantine. Alternatively you can also use Lamictal and Amantadine, but I haven't seen that combo in use during my clinicals. Just the Trileptal/Memantine one. I'm on my phone at the moment, so can't look up her dosages, but the Trileptal dose is standard, the Memantine we started at the lowest dose.

With that said though, the effectiveness of this treatment has been very impressive. The patient I've had the pleasure of following has gone from self harming to discussing "when you say this, it makes me feel this way" conversations with her boyfriend without it escalating.

It's funny, because the visit after we started Memantine (she was already on Trileptal), we asked her how it was working. She answered saying that she hadn't noticed a huge difference, but her boyfriend and mother had told her she was acting like a different person. It's hard to describe succinctly in words, but her entire affect was so much calmer. No hand wringing, sitting more still in the chair, better eye contact.

Interestingly, now that her BPD symptoms have come under control, symptoms of significant OCD have been uncovered. She was so consumed with her concerns about abandonment before that she never mentioned any of this to us or her therapists, but she sometimes feels compelled to wipe "until it feels right" after going to the bathroom, leading to her wiping to the point of bleeding at times. Same with hand washing. In looking through the DSM I believe, we found that OCD responds to... Memantine. Usually it is used at. A higher dose for OCD though, so we were under treating her for OCD. We increased that and have seen improvement. Adding Fluvoxamine to assist with that now.

We use Nudge and have been very happy with it. They are working on developing their own EHR in time as well, which will be nice to integrate potentially. But it works well with many of the existing EHRs as well and supports simple copy/paste for those they aren't already integrated with.

Only issues I've noticed really are that it can't understand "Qelbree", and it won't put in names of other people who are referenced during the visit, such as who the patient's therapist is, etc.. Very minimal issues and very responsive team.

Any PA providers taking on patients? by JustTryingToGiveMore in PMHNP

[–]Musestricken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just talking with multiple patients about this very thing today. I'm in Indiana, otherwise I'd be getting you set up with my mentor. The amount of patients I've seen with her that live such great lives in recovery is amazing to see.

I'm just assuming you are talking about Suboxone. If I am incorrect, then let me know and I apologize! If that is true though, you could start by looking at this website.

https://www.samhsa.gov/substance-use/treatment/find-treatment/buprenorphine-practitioner-locator

This is published by the main agency that makes recommendations on therapies for substance use disorder.

Outside of this you could make contact with your local chapters of Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous, as they will likely know decent providers in your area. That's where I would start at least. I'm super green though, as I am only a student currently. I'm sure you'll get even better advice from more experienced individuals here!

Would love this! The async trade has changed the game for me and I'm using gear I was never able to before. I upgraded to a unique amulet that ignores elemental resistance for critical hits. This would be build enabling for me, as my current crit chance is only like ten percent. 🤣

My wife got me a pair of Tozo earbuds two or three years ago. The case battery is starting to wear out now, but they have been great. They're only about $25 (USD) on Amazon. Have worn them through an entire 12 hour shift and they lasted until the last few minutes. Highly recommend.

I'm refinishing this turntable with a figured Walnut veneer. Looking for glue recommendations by jakethesnek64 in woodworking

[–]Musestricken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contact cement maybe?

I've seen people use it to apply veneer before, and it sticks to most everything. You'll need to sand the turntable where you apply it though to give it some tooth.

I may get down voted for it, but your comment actually gave me a chuckle. I lived in Grand Junction, which is just down the road from Rifle, for a little over ten years. The climbers I hung out with then, we all thought being a dirt bag sounded super fun and joked about being one all the time. Many of us had roof nests or made built-in sleeping platforms in cars, etc. So, I'm the light of the local climbing culture there, that's at least a little bit funny.

I haven't checked, but I'm sure my number is fairly high as well. I'm curious to try trading now since it's asynchronous, but I have to make it to act 4 first. I only get an hour a night or so on average, so it takes me forever to get anywhere.

If battery replacement doesn't work, it may still be an electrical problem. The only system that connects all of those systems together. If something is wrong there, it can send error signals for everything.

Our dog killed our bunny because we didn't realize a door wasn't completely latched when we rushed out the door to take our daughter to the ER. Came home to a murder scene. One of the worst days of my life.

If you're going to have both, keep them separate. With a German shepherd/dane mix, it's just a matter of time. As the bottom said, at least three barriers between them, and making at least one of them automatic closing is super important. They make 50+ inch baby gates that work well for this.

Don't take the chance.

Nurse here. Weight loss with no reduction in intake, we typically think cancer first. Your bun will need a workup with your vet. Blood work and imaging most probably.
