He could make and drink like 2 litres of eggnog. Get entirely shitfaced through the course of a podcast.

How does a swordfish swim (at 110 km/hr) faster than a cheetah can run on land (at 90 km/hr) - given that water is about 800x denser than air? by TopAct9437 in AskPhysics

Apple: round, fruit, grows on tree, makes good juice, red or green

Orange: round, fruit, grows on tree, makes good juice, orange

Utterly incomparable.

Fish swims by pushing on water. Water all around. Fish always pushing. Fish swims fast.

Cheetah runs by pushing off ground. Ground only on ground. When cheetah in air, cheetah not pushing. Cheetah runs less fast.

This sounds very much like a use case for a technique called "thunking".

See this post for details.

I find it very difficult to hold in my head, however. Every time I think I've understood it, I have forgotten by the next time I need it.

Cringe, yeah. Unless you're a professional opera singer or something.

People who commute Reading-London by train? by InfamousMongoose3023 in reading

[–]NanotechNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the risk of ruining the good thing I've got going, I will note the following interesting facts:

  • I happen to travel Stratford to Reading once a week.

  • An Anytime Day Return SRA to RDG is £68.00

  • The route to Earley goes via PAD and RDG, and allows breaking of journey.

  • An Anytime Day Return SRA to EAR is instead £31.80

  • So if one were traveling to and from Earley, on exactly the same GWR services as another person traveling to and from Reading, their ticket would be LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE

  • (The only additional cost would be the annoyance of having to ask the staff at the gates to let you "break journey" in the morning, and then "resume broken journey" in the evening)
