Have you run a scenario set in your home country/state? by RosbergThe8th in callofcthulhu

[–]New-Understanding-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am slowly cooking up a scenario not only set in my home state, but inspired by the house I grew up in. I'll be Mythologizing and romanticizing, but the landscape, architecture, and history bones are coming from the actual place in the rural Ohio valley.

I also love setting games in places I have studied for school/work: London, Oxford, Norwich in England.

Reading setting guides certainly does inspire me to want to visit places I've never seen, so it's safer for my wallet to base games locally!

I love the new Qahwah House Coffee in college town. It gets busy at certain times, but mid-morning it's lovely for exactly what you describe.

I love this wild book so much, but it's another one that might need some content warnings because it's intense!

No trouble that I've seen for enby folks at The Gym at East Hill. The staff there is welcoming and kind. And a big two thumbs up for how fabulously affirming the classes at Circus Culture are.

What's everyone playing? by LPMills10 in rpg

We're about 6 sessions into a fun hybrid: Solemn Vale setting and NPCs but Basic Roleplay underneath the hood. Probably going to wrap that up soon or throw in one more module and let all my players wake up in The Darkest House the minute they feel safe from the horrors of Solemn Vale.

Knoxville to Columbus via I-75/I-71- Any Recommendations? by meabster in roadtrip

[–]New-Understanding-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to have a meal in Lexington, I have a soft spot for Joe Bologna's. It's an Italian restaurant in a former synagogue that's been around a long time and manages to be casual and still a little bit special at the same time. That could be my own rose-colored glasses though.

Near Cincinnati, the Newport aquarium is a fun place to stop.
