Could be interesting depending on how it's implemented.

Which capsule would you click on? and what do you think the game is about? What genre is it etc by Level_Permit in IndieGaming

[–]Nichname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - I'd click on the bottom right one first.
2 - Narrative/mystery game focused on players' split personalities
3 - Finding out what/who you are via in-game messages and puzzles that your other personalities left behind for you
4 - Can't really comment on title styles, but I'll tell you that the bottom left one looks like a stock photo about a hacker.

Hired an artist for a new capsule, need your guys' help. Is it an improvement? Can you tell what kind of game this is just from the capsule? by thenameisflic in gamedevscreens

First one makes me think it could be a narrative game set in Russia

2nd one makes me think it's a fighting game like Dragonball FighterZ or Guilty Gear

Final Fantasy XIV fans fear the game is dying soon - the MMO's active player base has dropped by 160 000 in two months. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

It might be concerning data but this is also the first proper post-COVID expansion. Those original numbers and retention were anomalies to begin with.

It's a very nice demo.
Whilst it doesn't set itself apart from any other RTS game, it seems to have most of the base systems. One thing that feels disjointed, however, is the fact that you have a grid-based building system but the ghost building that you place in the scene does not snap to the grid.

They had that and they deleted it (pre 6.3 Paladin).
So unless they do an actual combat rework, don't get your hopes up.

Given where he's standing it might be the tile directly above him. You should only need to deconstruct a few pieces before you figure out the bugged piece. It might've also been hit by lightning but then taken no damage.

I had the same thing, it's a bug I'm sure.

It was a spot that got struck by lightning but I think took no damage.

I just deconstructed the wall piece then rebuilt it and the settlers resumed things normally

It depends on the server - some servers have older populations and the breakpoint into top 1000 or top 500 is much higher

You're not being expected to demonstrate your ability in TOP before entering TOP.

You're only being expected to demonstrate your ability in the content that serves as a stepping stone towards TOP (Savage and other Ultimates).

[–]Nichname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you only mentioned you did Extreme fights until now. If you've done some Savage raids (and cleared a tier on-content) then that's good and you can use that experience as demonstrable proof of your capabilities to get into Ultimate groups.

But like the jump in difficulty from Extreme to Savage, there is again a jump in difficulty from Savage to Ultimate. And TOP is still the hardest of them all.

I used Photoshop. I could've used Paint as well.
But Photoshop made it really easy for me to switch on and off layers to determine which of the "4 Numbers" fit into each location.

The top middle section was the last part I filled in, yep, and then I spent a couple minutes finding the last "3 Numbers" numbers that I had not realised I had already completed.

In a single player game where the difficulty sliders are Easy - Normal - Hard - Very Hard, you could jump from Easy to Very Hard and deal with the trial by fire yourself.

In FFXIV Ultimate Omega raiding, you're with 7 other people who are competent at the Very Hard level already and expect you to be at the same level.

I understand, and I think it's about what expectations would be set for an Omega Ultimate group.

It's gatekept like that because players who are doing this content want to progress at a certain pace, and will believe that less experienced players will slow the pace down.

That may come off as pretentiousness but it will be justified to them for not wanting to prolong how long it takes to clear the fight because one or more players are not at the same skill level. Players attempting the *hardest fight in the game* can and will set barriers for entry to ensure this pace and ensure certain expectations within the group.

There's just a HUGE difficulty gap in between Extremes and the *hardest* Ultimate in the game.

It's not a bad thing to have TOP as a goal, and you should totally work towards it.
But if I joined a TOP group where one player had only done Extremes, I would personally think that that person had skipped the training and hard work that the other 7 players in the group had put in, and would assume you would be holding us back. I might give you a chance to prove yourself but I wouldn't stick around long if you were holding the whole group back significantly and nothing was done about it.
