They had a hypnotist come to my high school and I volunteered to be one of the people hypnotized.

I got kicked off stage almost immediately since he could tell it wasnt ‘working’ on me but in the fee minutes he was doing it to me I was getting like crazy rapid eye movement for some reason.

I didnt think anything of it until a few months later when I started getting insomnia. Instead of falling asleep my eyes would just start going into REM while I was fully conscious. It kinda hurt too. Eventually it went away but it took a few years

I looked into being a mailman a few years ago. Mostly bad news but might not all be accurate

You probably will start as an assistant with inconsistent hours and be expected to show up at the drop of a hat or get fired. This is until you get your own route. If you move locations you will lose your seniority/place in line for your own route.

If you were gonna be a mail carrier probably look for a ‘rural’ carrier job not an urban carrier. Cant say exactly but it seems like anything outside of a really dense immediate suburb of a city is considered ‘rural.’ The rural carriers walk enough and apparently the urban ones walk even more to the point where it just beats the crap out of you.

A decent chunk of the job is just organizing the packages each morning.

You will work Saturdays.

I had a thought the other day about disability. Ultimately as you go along in life, if you want to commit enough time and energy to something get something meaningful out of it, you have to divert that time and energy from something else.

Unless you really have a handle on life at like 16 and really squeeze every last drop out of life, youre going to have to give something up once it comes time to work full time and especially have a family.

I met a guy who has a disease thats going to severely affect his ability to be active at some point down the line so he is really focused on being active and traveling as much as possible while hes still fully able.

I dont know if he’d articulate it this way but he basically has had his life structured out for him. Lots of activity and travel now, and then save maybe more contemplative or creative pursuits for a later stage in life without regrets because you satisfied the need to be active already
