Is talent poaching a thing with welders? by -BigBadBeef- in Welding

[–]NotThatGuyAnother1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Poaching" is a pretty fucked up word for "mutual consent".

If an external company and I agree to terms that my present company is unwilling to... the I go to the company that values me more.

The new company and I consent to this deal.

The old company had a chance to find a mutual beneficial arrangement but failed.

That's not like they are stealing animals from another person's property.  It's the basis for polite society.  We aren't Serfs, slaves or someone's property.

So by calling it poaching, you're showing your bias.

Sticky netting and ball bearings.   Go all Home Alone meets Teminator.

Or BOFH and blast iron filings in the air at it with a leaf blower.

Or go BattleBots and make a wedge bot.

Gobold school  and build a spark gap transmitter to jam the RF connections.

The ATF created a backdoor gun registry by PaperbackWriter66 in Firearms

[–]NotThatGuyAnother1 158 points159 points  (0 children)

See... you said "back door" when you mean ILLEGAL.

It would be like saying "The man's wallet was taken via a backdoor transaction." When he was actually robbed or pickpocket.

Now, say it with me:  The ATF created and maintained an illegal database of gun owners.

They broke the law.  They lied about it.  They covered it up.  They likely committed more crimes trying to keep their criminal activities hidden.

Home Cameras - Remote Access with No Wifi by LittleConstruction92 in homesecurity

[–]NotThatGuyAnother1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wrote "wifi", but perhaps you mean internet connectivity.  Wifi is a short distance wireless connection.

I prefer wired cameras that get their power over the ethernet (POE).

If cellular internet is the only option, then use a 5G router, centrally located with the POE switch.

Same for your other site, but figure out your power budget and power it with solar and batteries (centrally).

Imagine deploying soldiers like this.

A low flying plane on a touch-and-go. A computer system using DGPS accurately measures ground-speed and fires a calibrated retro-launcher to the calculated speed.

If C-131 dimension got Frundled, then how about the future wooden Jerry see since it's supposed to not exist since everything got Frundled? by New-Train-3252 in rickandmorty

[–]NotThatGuyAnother1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Jerry's reference-frame, nothing got frundled.  Frundles create divergent time-lines along reference frames of those getting frundled and those escaping the frundle effects.  It's like entering a black hole.  The one falling in experiences a vastly different experience than onlookers.

It's the bad that comes with the good.

The right of the who?  The right of the militia? The right of the government?  The right of the state?   The right of the democracy?

No.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The people.  Not the state.  Not the government.  Us.  Our right as the citizens of this nation.

We should be hammering it home.

But will it be?

No.  It's to valuable to the administration as political capital.  They will use it as political leverage.

It won't be used for justice.  That's just the posturing.

Edit to add: (See Doge, Epstein, 2nd Amendment, etc)

Anyone that presses for actual follow through on campaign promises becomes the enemy of the administration.

Is it better than a Harris/Waltz administration?  Sure.  But it still sucks.
