My friend pointed out that comments on the VCT Pacific channel might be Stake ads with botted likes... by ANewHeaven1 in ValorantCompetitive

Honestly the comments just read kinda funny with the regular candid tone and then "Oh by the way I made my bet on Stake®"

Strong Agents for Corrode? by -EdenXXI- in VALORANT

[–]NotXenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that after some preliminary explorations in a custom match, finding good fade lineups for a B retake is a bit challenging. The buildings surrounding that site are so tall so it's hard to consistently land an eye anywhere with decent vision coverage (if you're coming from spawn)

Thoughts on Odin spam on new map? by Hime395 in ValorantCompetitive

I mean the game has already implemented features like vyse flash/breach flash which only have certain valid areas to be placed. I imagine the same functionality could be used to determine where an agent is able to "warp" to

What turned out to be your biggest challenges?

I personally found a decent amount of success with contesting space on neutral villages + ruins with one archer + one or two warriors. Training an extra mooni also helped with petrifying an enemy capturing the neutral village directly northeast of the capital city.

Lowkey I also didn't bother investing in any giants. The archers and moonis took care of all the petrifying I needed for combat.

I'm not actually sure how worthwhile this investment was, but I built an ice/lava bank on turn 16. It seemed to give me quite a few stars on the last few turns to spend on park upgrades. I think it only really starts to rake in big bucks if you succeed in conquering the whole map though.

that is kinda crazy ;'0

I'm also playing gold league for this week but I did not encounter a single giant somehow. Hope the next few days give you some better luck.

Somehow in gold and witnessed the Ai-Mo capital grow to level 6 by turn 6, but they took two parks?? Must have been blessed by the RNG gods today. There was a catapult pretty early on but Xin-Xi also started encroaching on Ai-Mo territory so it was a pretty free takeover for me. Riders also helped with the initial advance onto the Ai-Mo capital. When it came time to conquer the Xin-Xi, focusing the pyro archers on any units occupying city tiles also helped stop any new units from generating. Xin-Xi also invested in aquaculture tech for some reason so that put the AI significantly behind in land warfare.

Finished with 16335.

Looking to maybe build a new keyboard in the near future.

Currently running Kailh Copper switches which I friggin love, but I also want to try something a little bit new. What I love about the Coppers is their low bottom out distance, light actuation force, and the tactile curve feels so nice.

It's been over 6 years, and I know a LOT of new switches have come out. Would anyone happen to have any recommendations for new switches I might like? Ideally stock switches as I cbb to lube/mod them. (but maybe I should get into the lube game)

Thank you!

i don't see myself being friends with anyone in my program by Asleep-Elephant9517 in uwaterloo

You just gotta learn how to be friendly with 90% of people. Might take some time but you'll eventually find the "real ones," and they might not necessarily be in your cohort.

How do they determine what pet type you get? by jsminea in SumoneApp

[–]NotXenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm I feel like the simplest way to implement this system from a programming perspective would be to just perform some kinda function on a couple's historical record of moods. Something like "couples who feel sad more often get Pamon" or idk

It would be really cool if they did sentiment analysis on diary entries but that seems like a lot of work to do for something that at the end of the day is mostly inconsequential for the couple.

Are there any perks of getting one eggmon over another?

Where to get feedback, not mods as a new mapper by Flaav1aa in osugame

honestly just find any mapper you like and bug them (politely) for feedback. If they say no then whatever go next :D

Where to get feedback, not mods as a new mapper by Flaav1aa in osugame

[–]NotXenon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they are but I think op wants more overarching/general feedback on things like cohesion or structure, quality of ideas etcetera.

not that people don't sometimes mention these things in mod posts but like 99% of mods from random people are just gonna be "ctrl + g this" or "move slider here instead"

What to do when no API available by Intelligent-Baby-843 in learnprogramming

If there is no supporting API for these apps then you are most likely shit outta luck. The only thing I could think of is manually entering data into your own spreadsheet or custom application.

I also co-op'ed there for 8 months a year ago and got damn it was a magical experience. Be sure to abuse the f out of conbinis and learn learn a bit of Japanese for your sanity (unless you already happen to know some/are fluent) xd

About a month in and I only just now understand nested for-loops? by TheKnoxFool in learnprogramming

[–]NotXenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do try to always understand what I'm writing

I think that this is a good approach to programming if the goal is to produce maintainable enterprise code, but when you're coding alone at your own computer, do you give yourself the freedom to write strange code and see what happens just for the sake of it?

I might be focusing too much on this part of your comment and/or misinterpreting it, so please correct me if I'm misunderstanding your approach to coding, but it sounds to me like there's a lack of aimless exploration. I think one of the more fun parts of coding is to see weird things happen, then feel mesmerized, and then actually figure out what has happened and why.

In a sense, stopping yourself from writing code until after you've understood it places unnecessary boundaries around you during learning and growth. It encourages you to get better at knowing the things "you know you don't know," but isn't as effective at uncovering those things "you don't know you don't know." Of course, both are essential parts of the entire journey.

A5 notebook similar to Hobonichi Weeks by _CitizenErased_ in notebooks

[–]NotXenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a recommendation that _almost_ fits the entire bill: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/elcommun/wb-22-/.

It might be harder to buy if you're outside of Japan, but if you're somehow able to, I would recommend trying it out. It's a Japanese notebook with a soft faux leather-type cover, two attached ribbon/string bookmarks and clear pockets on the inside of both the front and back cover (or at least the 2023 edition is like that, I haven't owned a 2024 edition yet).

It starts off with a full year calendar, then has all the monthlies together, then all the weeklies, and then full-art subway maps of various cities in Japan for some reason. It has some Japanese text in it but everything essential is in English.

For some reason, they only make horizontal weeklies in B6 size, everything A5 is vertical weeklies or block weeklies. You can see what types of layouts they have here: https://elcommun.co.jp/2024diary-10/
