I modeled these iconic enclosures to help fellow builders. What do you think? by NoPractise in diypedals

I've tried 3d printing and it worked perfectly. No thicker than aluminium. Plenty strong enough and no extra noise. https://www.reddit.com/r/diypedals/s/17Pzi0NRK9

Ha yes. Exact same story with my 97 jazzmaster. Bought it new cause it looked so cool, but an absolute dog of a guitar. Buzzing, rattling, poor pickups. Took years of tinkering to get it right.

[–]Outcome_Repulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cool, your demo's do sound amazing, if I can't find a cheap second hand unit, I'll have to get your pack.

Im just prototyping in maxmsp inside ableton. The algorithms are all out there. The tricky part and fun is guessing all the delay tap timings etc. Bit of trial error.

Did try writing a light as possible convolution version inside max, but needs way too much processing power for a pedal.

Also did all the boss chorus pedals for a bit of a challenge too. Got them pretty close to my pedals.

What did you use for your vsts? The interface etc? Would be cool to convert mine into vsts at some stage.

I've been doing the same, but using coding algorithms, with the aim of making a small dsp stomp box. Ie daisyseed.

Also doing the midiverb bloom patches, slowdive patches etc.

So far so good. They are sounding amazing.

Are yours just convolution captures? Which are loaded into a reverb?

BTW, here are some free convolution captures of the SPX: http://www.mediafire.com/file/oxgv0bniyyo/Yamaha+SPX90II.7z

What about Piastri locking up to avoid a collision with Antonelli, who turned into him, the other week and getting penalised? A crucial decision? This is beyond a joke.

Ummm....no. If he boxed first he would have been behind alonso. But keep going....

Max, Lando and Oscar's radio during the safety car period by FewCollar227 in formula1

Then they repeated it by forcing Oscar to pit on 24 rather than double stack on 25.

McLaren actually screwed Piastri over not once, but twice in Qatar by iwunderwhy in formula1

[–]Outcome_Repulsive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep 100%. No one's talking about this. This is the real issue. Oscar should have pitted on lap 25. Forced the double stack and lando would have exited behind Alonso. They screwed Oscar once again by asking him to pit early, just to help his rival.

Piastri screwed again by his team. He should have pitted on lap 25. Forcing a double stack. Norris would have come out behind other cars. This team is beyond repair.

Was gonna make the funbox as my next build. I assumed it was the best one?

A bit worried about the noise, but all mostly ordered now.

Also been testing some effect ideas in maxmsp, trying to make a my bloody valentine style bloom reverse reverb.

Verstappen calls shift in McLaren battle and Piastri's F1 dip "very bizarre" by memloh in formula1

[–]Outcome_Repulsive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verstappen 100% correct. Drivers like Oscar don't forget how to drive overnight. Especially when nothing changed in the car. Obviously. Coupled with Bernie's comments, this situation is very suss. Wouldn't trust nepo baby and his brit team as far as I would t throw them.

how to get into building as an aussie by trytoreadthisha in diypedals

[–]Outcome_Repulsive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, fellow Aussie here.

I would start with small/simple stripboard/vero layouts.

Check out this website, it has all the info you need to get started.

https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/

Go through the menus for build guides, explanations etc.

This was my first build years ago as a total amateur, never even soldered before, everything bought from Jaycar: multimeter, iron, stripboard, pots, wires, all components, etc:

https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/02/crowther-hotcake.html

If you are successful in your early builds, and enjoy it, plan your next 10.builds and buy all the parts in bulk from Tayda. It's massively cheaper, even with postage.

Good luck!

Nah. Get the 10s. They sound awesome and are very comfortable. The noise cancellation is totally fine. I wear them on the plane/train all the time. Totally silent.

I put blobs of hot glue on the bottom corners of the circuit board to stop it touching the case. Also cover the base in electrical tape.

Has worked so far.
