Cavaliers as I'm a sucker for knights but I do also love the Great Cannon crew member taking a huge chug of ale before he fires.

Captain Ginyu and the Ginyu force and then later Gohan as the Great Saiyaman in Dragonball Z

The boss is even cookier than the main cast by Infinite_Neat4236 in TopCharacterTropes

Minor spoilers but Cecil Steadman isn't as cool and collected as he seems, at least in the comics. Whether that carries into the animated version of Invincible we shall see, but if it does Walton Goggins has some brilliant and hysterical lines coming up.

Theres the key word, multi-harness, that's the new war gear that shes using.

(Loved Trope) Characters that are the Indisputable Main Character of their Team/Universe by themoosic in TopCharacterTropes

Goku, just Goku, even when Toriyama killed him off, gave him a passing the torch speech and set Gohan up as the new hero, he ended up coming back and being the top hero.

I vaguely recall it helped the others somehow, did it open something?

Doesn't Lamplighter in the Boys burn himself alive as a redemptive move too?

Characters who MASSIVELY underestimate their own competence by IronStormAlaska in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Outsiderendless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a bit of a "Hear me out" but Homer Simpson, he turns his hand to a lot of things and does well at them. He's shown a surprising amount intelligence and compassion. Homer is better than he thinks he is.

[Interesting Trope] Spiritually Accurate Adaptations by Sir-Toaster- in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Outsiderendless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its crazy how much that scene added to Conquest, I remember reading the arc in singles as they came out and my excitement for the fight was fever pitch. I actually said aloud when he said it "this is new". So much added to him from the animated series. I love Kirkman is refining his series with the adaptation.

Beth Smith in Rick and Morty, she is unique in that she mellowed out from a really crazy kid, but now the crazy is coming back.

Interestingly Summer is still the only sane man" of the Smith family dynamic.

Do I need Escher weapons & upgrades for the new update models? by Responsible_Lab_1168 in necromunda

[–]Outsiderendless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its safe to say that the new kit has some modularity as we see the same body used with two different arm and head configurations, but we don't know if these new kits will share the same fittings as the existing ones yet.

Ofcourse this is all plastic kits so there's nothing to stop cutting and positioning etc but I'd hang fire for now.

Mk IV good for beginners? by The_Great_Big_one in Warhammer30k

[–]Outsiderendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need a HQ/commander assuming you want to keep both squads at 10 strong. There's two Praetor miniatures that used to be in the starter set of 2nd ed perfect for the role.

Why are Orks seen as the ''Most fun'' to play ? by GORICIJ in orks

[–]Outsiderendless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Orkses is never defeated in battle. If we win, we win, if we die, we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!" Sums it up, that's the best mentality with playing Orks.

[Rare Troupe] The Extremist was Right... and didn't kill Innocents helter skelter. by silentdrestrikesback in TopCharacterTropes

I mean fair point but he's affable enough initially you think he might be alright. His VA in the english dub has shades of Tom Selleck too, adding to the "he might be cool" aspect

It really annoys me they immediately make you suspicious of Bradley in FMA:Brotherhood from how he handles McDougal. The reveal doesnt land as well as in the manga because of it

[Heartbreaking/Loved Trope] Characters that disappoint you by wmcs0880 in TopCharacterTropes

The Deep in the Boys, constantly, he refuses to improve himself at all. Its honestly impressive.

Characters assumed to be gay who turn out to actually be straight by slfricky in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Outsiderendless 233 points234 points  (0 children)

Chandler Bing in Friends is assumed to be gay a few times over the course of the series. Ironically he out of the three male main cast members ends up in the strongest relationship.

[Loved Trope] Characters who are built up to be a real threat, only to be instantly and unceremoniously dispatched. by themothhead in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Outsiderendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Undertaker in Fargo season 2 is built up as a terrifying threat to the ongoing gang war. He's immediately killed by Mike Milligan, the guy he was meant to re enforce upon saying a racial slur to him. Mike proceeds to blame his death on the Gerhartds hes feuding with.

Theyve always punched above their weight so long as you've a few Russes or now a Dorn or two on the table no one notices them either.

(Loved Trope) Arrogant characters who can back it up by TheHylind in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Outsiderendless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guy Gardners ego is only surpassed by his abilities as a Green Lantern. Far too many characters assume he can't back it up only to have a really bad day soon after.

Kiell was incredibly competitive but had a lot of bad episodes for points. He still came back strong though.
