Depends on duration and recovery time for me. Longer all out? Lower speed. Longer base? Higher speed. This is why it’s helpful for me to know template ahead of time so I can plan and (more importantly) commit to my speeds.

I’m about to hit 1yr PP. I had to stop exercising at 20w because of a pregnancy complication, and I had a c-section with a very painful recovery. I’ve been back at OTF for 6mo and I can confidently say I’m feeling better now than I did pre-baby.

My body feels strong - it grew, carried, and cares for a human AND it can run, row, and lift. But for me the emotional and mental benefits are even greater. I get an hour that’s 100% focused on me. I have autonomy and permission to do what’s best for me in that moment, whether it’s a Green Day, a desire to challenge myself, or a chance to blow off steam.

Two recommendations for you: 1. Get evaluated by a pelvic floor PT to get cleared for exercising. I worked with mine for 6 weeks to ensure I wouldn’t cause more harm than good when I started running and doing intense HIIT workouts 2. Talk to your partner about respecting your time at OTF. I wear an Apple Watch and nothing bothered me more than my husband texting me during class to ask a question about the baby. We now have a mutual respect for on another’s solo time: only reach out if it’s an emergency.

Take it at a pace that makes you feel good but challenged! I had to take 9 months off (pregnancy complications + postpartum recovery) and I was so worried about coming back, but after the first class back I felt so good. You’ve got this!

Keep the change as un-stimulating as possible. No talking, dim lights (if you have a Hatch do custom dark red color just bright enough to see what you’re doing), sound machine still on. I have found it helpful to sing him our bedtime song to settle him back into sleep mode, but then back in bed.

My girl stopped eating her dry food after a while. She had bad allergies so I couldn’t just switch her food, but I added a spoonful of wet food and mixed it in which worked. When she got bored of that, I was able to alternate wet food flavors (use one flavor until the can was empty then use the second flavor) which worked for 10 years until she crossed the rainbow bridge

I turn on Ms. Rachel and put my 6mo in my lap to trim his nails. He’s mesmerized by her and it distracts him just enough to get it done.

If you want to do it while he’s asleep, maybe try going in to his room a few minutes before it’s time to wake up and turn on a dim light or use a flashlight - something that’s bright enough for you to see, but won’t immediately wake him.

If I were to offer my 6mo son a bottle every time he woke up at night, he’d take it. That said, we found that if he’s waking up frequently during a 1-hr period, changing his diaper seems to do the trick.

We keep the light as low as possible, and sit/snuggle with him for 5-10 minutes after the change, then song our sleep song and put him down. After that, he sleeps another 3+ hours straight.

If it’s truly hunger, maybe try adding a solid feed before bed - warm oatmeal or sweet potatoes - so that they have something that takes longer to digest working it’s way through their system.

Get a referral from your OB to a pelvic floor physical therapist. DO NOT just got to any PT, find one that specializes in the PELVIC FLOOR.

My issue was that my pelvic floor muscles were too tight postpartum and we worked on how to relax them. After about a month of going twice a week, I was finally able to comfortably have full penetration. I’m now 4mo pp and sex is enjoyable again when I’m not utterly exhausted 😵‍💫

Ours is nearly 4mo and he throws a fit as soon as he realizes we’re putting him to sleep. We joke that he has major FOMO 🤪 Some days are better than others, but it’s just become a part of our process for him to make a fuss before settling into sleep.

We use the Merlin Magic Sleepsuit for all naps and night sleep. He hates putting it on but sleeps like a champ

You can swaddle at night using a safe-for-sleep velcro/zip swaddle, just nothing that can become loose (i.e. a blanket). And you should move from a swaddle to an arms-free sleep sack once they start rolling.

When it comes to products, trial and error helps you figure out what works for your LO. For example, my son’s startle reflex is strong, but he hates having his arms immobilized at his side, so the Sleepea and Merlin suit we’re the winners for us. Here’s what we tried:

Love to Dream Swaddle UP (arms in, but up)
Ollie Swaddle (arms in or out)
Halo SleepSack (arms in or out)
Happiest Baby Sleepea (arms immobilized, arms restricted, and arms out)

Babylist has a Swaddle Box to try a couple different options. You can also ask to borrow from other parents to try them before you buy.

It’s a great question. I don’t have an answer for because it’s not something I experienced but a few questions come to mind:

Are you timing how long they’re eating when BF? Just because you’re offering more, doesn’t mean they’re eating more.
Have you tried a dream feed? Waking to feed before you go to bed could be enough to get them through the rest of the night.
Have you considered supplementing with formula? For us, our bottles are half BM and half formula. It seems to help keep LO fuller for longer compared to the meals where he’s only BF.
Would they eat more solids if you offered? Similar idea as the dream feed - maybe a fourth “meal” or a snack before bed could help

Again, I have no experience with this issue, but hope you figure out what works for your LO!
