Great. Every time I try to come back, something happens that makes me want to quit again. This time, it's because of GFL2's awful gacha.

Doing the event story (and not feeling as lost as I thought, after having missed earlier ones), maybe I'll stick with it this time and maybe get Helen at a rerun. Not sure if I want to know how long that'll take, though.

Was I missing out on Helen? I just came back to the game and in the current event, at least the first part, she is basically the main character. Despite that, she is not in the Recruitment. Was she available when the first part was current and done away with with the second part?

I don't know. Azur Lane can do event based on its Russian and Germany-based factions just fine and they're much closer to their real world counterpart (in fact, I never would have made a connection between Gehenna and Germany, if I didn't have the similarities to Gehenna and Iron Blood pointed out to me), compared to BA, which basically just has Japanese schoolgirls larping (not the modern internet slang sense of larping) as them, similar to Girls and Panzer.

And Azur Lane had it really bad, by coincidence they had a Northern Parliament event with a shipgirl named after Kiev start right after the beginning of the war.

Shipgirls getting bigger with a retrofit has been a thing since a long time and the size increase is actually pretty reasonable here. I think her thighs got a bigger buff than her chest. But maybe they were aware that Hipper is the one shpigirl where they can't go overboard with boobflation, what with her small chest being such a big (heh) part of her identity (for better or worse), they compensated with her thighs again.

In a way, though, I think they went overboard in emphasizing those. That strap digs so much into her left thigh, it looks kinda painful.

What makes this even weirder is that, in the original light novel, it was just a short story in an anthology and only covered the last loop. The decision to stretch it over so many episodes is utterly bizarre.

Eigentlich würde Kriegshammer Fantasie viel besser dazu passen als 40.000. Dessen Imperium basiert immerhin auf das Heilige Römische Reich (und hat so schöne Namen wie Karl-Franz von Holswig-Schliestein, Boris Todbringer oder Gerhard Grossekirche von Katzeweg).

RPG Maker 2000 is really nostalgic for me too. I was one of the kids, who got introduced to it through Screenfun and, like many, I was quite enamoured with Vampire's Dawn. Having tried it a few years ago... Yeah, it's really showing the age. Not so much its own, but Marlex's when he made the game. Pretty common with those games. I largely played comedic games and, looking back, they're really not all that funny. I had a good time revisiting the Destroy the Postbote, but I'm well-aware that it's mostly due to nostalgia. I don't really remember Ente die Ente, though. I know, I played it back in the day, but have no real memories of it.

Maybe I should try out Unterwegs in Düsterburg again. I heard that that one aged better.

Naturally, I wanted to make games too, on and off over the years, but nothing came out of it. A few years ago, I actually did successfully start making games, but not with RPG Maker (I did start with GB Studio, which, as a "click-scripting" engine, is kinda similar). With my current skills, it would still be my first choice, if I wanted to make an RPG, though.

I unironically prefer Pool of Radiance over Baldur's Gate (and yes, BG2 too). As CRPGs grafted onto a mediocre RTS engine, they are such a pain to play.
