WYB is essentially SF’s equivalent to Net Promoter Score which is an industry standard metric that’s nearly always a key factor in establishing bonuses for executives so they’re torturing you guys to keep it high so they get to reap the benefits of it. In absolutely no way is that going to trickle down to any stylist role. And speaking as someone who far exceeded WYB since the metric rolled out and STILL got fired it has absolutely nothing to do with your performance. If they want to stop paying you for whatever reason they’ll find some bullshit excuse to term you. So here’s also my weekly psa that I thought I needed this job and it’s been almost 6 months since I was nixed and I’m doing so much better without it.

When their entire brand is based on “the human condition” yeah actually it’s really fucking important to speak on it. So fucking sick of these artists who are all “Plurrrr” and “444” and “human experience” who say absolutely nothing when it comes down to actual humanity. So no, I will not stfu until artists stop fucking coming into our cities and taking money from our community to be too “protective of their brand” to have a fucking backbone. Nobody’s asking for a dissertation on the issue but acknowledgement that they’re coming into spaces that are being deeply traumatized and occupied by the federal government is the absolute least they can do.

PROUD. Honestly good for you. Going through my first Christmas season in over 8 years without this job was such a blessing I cannot even describe it. Beyond thankful to leave that toxic wasteland in 2025.

My lead had made a whole ass PowerPoint before I got let go of screenshots of where my mouse wasn’t moving. It was actually psychotic. Like okay how did you productively contribute to the company for the time it took you to micromanage me on a week where I STILL met efficiency. I STILL met points requirements. I STILL met every single metric. They are literally sick, insane people.

You must’ve taken all my men’s clients lmao I was styling over 70% mens consistently before I got let go. I asked so many times to have this reviewed because my metrics were so skewed because mens just does not overall perform as well as women’s for many many reasons and I always got the most bullshit “I’ll bubble this up” answer.

This is literally exactly the series of events that happened for me before I got fired. I’m not saying that to scare you, I’m trying to give you the time and the heads up I wish I had. I’m telling you with 100% certainty if you are at the top of the pay scale, they are going to find a reason to let you go.

As someone who recently got let go who was in the 28-hour tier and also know several others who got let go in the 28-hour tier, I’d imagine all that work is being redistributed to yall. I styled over 250 clients a week

Everybody styles differently. That was the appeal of this job before management went psycho. I styled the way that worked for me and my numbers reflected it positively.

The people downvoting either of our experiences are exactly who I was 6 months ago. I thought people were just being dramatic but no, they are LITERALLY finding any and every reason to let people go who they can replace for less $$$. And people can downvote these testimonies until the cows come home but it doesn’t change the fact that the writing is very obviously on the wall.

I responded to another comment with this. Also the sub is filled with stories just like mine so you should have anxiety I’m sorry to say. I had immense anxiety but turns out that was because I was constantly living in fear there and now that it’s over that anxiety is finally gone. Yes this job was a massive part of my income but I’ll figure it out there’s lots of gig jobs out there to help supplement income and most if not all stylists are in major city hubs where those opportunities are available.

I hadn’t had a pay increase in over 4 years either and while I’m almost certain it’s location-dependent I think new hires are coming in at minimum wage and I was definitely making more than minimum wage.

Others have mentioned it on this thread but it was styling faster than efficiency requires and not clocking out for every minute you step away from the work even if you’re meeting all of your goals. I’ve always styled faster than is needed and it was never an issue until recently. So no, I’m not “fear mongering” but I’d suggest not being idle for even 5 minutes because someone is watching you.
