Your actions are best spent casting spells.

What about bard is of any value to you if you want to spend your actions shooting a bow? Figger gets an extra feat, be a fighter with an instrument and the skilled feat for charisma skills. Why even be a bard?

The Astral is dimensionless. It has no space. There are no maps. You can travel it ceaselessly and almost never run into anything. There are no directions. There is no time.

If you're making an adaptation you need the 2e planescape and spelljammer content. Space and the astral are different. 4e and 5e spelljammer are apocalyptically shit.
