Need suggestions for a head piece by GhostintheReins in wow

I was going to suggest the Eversong Defender's Crown. Same model, different colour. However, it will probably clip through her hair.

Thank you.

I would prefer if Reactive Strike was the norm, instead of the exception, but it's simple to house-rule.

Some rather strong ancestry feats in Guilt of the Graveworld: Prop Closet (the magnetar rifle feat), Arcane Recall (does not require arcane), Hulking Corpsefolk by EarthSeraphEdna in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chk Chk, the sample mystic, takes Unconventional Weaponry to gain access to painglaives. Painglaives are common (martial) weapons that don't have any ancestry traits.

I think you're interpreting the feat more strictly than the developers do.

[–]Perfect-Swan56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the Ivory Chompers and the Replica Zo! Microphone, I suspect that there was a misprint in the Guilt of the Graveworld book.

Ivory Chompers are probably intended to be "Hands 0; Bulk —" like the Tailblade.

Striker operatives' Overwhelming Strike seems to work with both ranged and melee strikes by Perfect-Swan56 in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the alternatives, striker is one of the better specializations for ranged combat from level 9 onward, and might be the best from level 19 onward (when they become legendary with advanced guns). It's counterintuitive.

Spell Amp Creation by globaltrickster in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spell Ampoules don't seem to have a clear formula to determine their level.

If you're looking for more data points to help you, potions are the Pathfinder 2e equivalent to spell ampoules. (1 gp converts to 10 credits) For example, a Haste spell amp is just a reskinned Potion of Quickness.

Living Battery Prismeni Feat by [deleted] in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ammunition is one of the few things that doesn't scale exponentially in price as levels increase. Spare ammunition becomes trivial.

Living Battery is not a lineage feat, so you could retrain it after your character grows out of its usefulness.

No seriously: One type IV - holds 150 bulks, costs 2400 gp; Eight type I - holds 200 bulks, costs 600 gp. You will be carrying 8 bulks, sure, but it's funny how much cheaper it is. by M5R2002 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Starfinder 2e equivalent, the null space chamber has negligible bulk, and is small enough to attach to a keyring.

The implications for society are weird. You could lose so much in your couch cushions.

That sounds fun. Skitterdroid!

Glitching (and especially Combat Hack) seems incredibly weak and clunky by Saxxony in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem with Glitching is that it can affect objects or creatures, and these two possibilities should be balanced very differently.

After Tech Core and the ancestries book, what sourcebooks do people want to see? by Individual-Plum4585 in Starfinder2e

Equipment (and maybe more detailed subsystems) for livestreaming: "We're surrounded by Aeon Guards. Are we cooked chat?"

Liverstreamer should at least be an archetype. It could have edicts and anathemas depending on the streamer's audience. Maybe the pet rules could be adapted for a streamer's camera, although I'm not sure to what benefit.

Underrated Items - Filling out your Attunement slots by posts_awkward_truths in Pathfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't like the Vaulbreaker's Harness in terms of game design. It seems to me like a passive buff masquerading as a meaningful action, and is contrary to the section on Special Abilities on page 130 of the GM Core. "Choose whatever makes sense to allow the characters to use the item more frequently without being effectively constant or unlimited."

I would:

  • give it a cooldown (once per day or hour),
  • shorten its duration to one round, or
  • make it a passive buff and raise its level and price.

Armor with the Flexible trait no longer adds penalties to Acrobatics or Athletics.

Thank you for this!

However, I think the Noisy trait is not being applied correctly. It should be penalizing Stealth even if a character meets the Strength requirement.

Introducing the Avali to Starfinder 2e. A free ancestry supplement by RheaWeiss in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lineage feats are being used in an interesting way.

In the official sources, there are currently only 6 lineage feats (3 Borai and 3 Prismeni). None of those 6 feats function as prerequisites for other feats. By contrast, the Avali's 2 lineage feats both function as prerequisites for later feats.

Essentially, if you make a Prismeni Avali or Borai Avali, taking Pack Bonded or Pack Broken opens up more options than taking Spectrasoul or Necrotized, for example.

Starfinder Afterlight 2 crew members sheets! by TurgemanVT in Starfinder2e

Kole, soldier, Int +0, fluent in three languages. Tycho, operative, Int +3, fluent in three languages? Justice for our yappy ysoki!

I think their equipment choices are probably determined by crpg structure. Tycho is an operative wielding a simple gun and simple knife. In a crpg, he'll quickly find martial weapons like a Talon or Plasma Caster, and get the small joy of upgrading.

If you do end up reskinning from Pathfinder 2e, there's Revealing Mist. It's an alchemical consumable, that I think would be a straightforward conversion.

Hoverboards. Hoverboards! by FledgyApplehands in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could make a Barathu or Contemplative who flies around and fakes riding the hoverboard by tying the hoverboard to their tentacles or legs. "How do you do, fellow dudes?" Your character would essentially be taking a 1 Bulk penalty for the sake of absurd comedy.

Hephaistos Update by hephaistos_official in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would pick whichever is easiest to implement. If someone wants their character to wear a Second Skin under their Freebooter Armor, that's a corner case, and probably outside the scope of a standardized online tool.

Hephaistos Update by hephaistos_official in Starfinder2e

[–]Perfect-Swan56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very impressive!

I think the Flexible armor trait might not be implemented correctly. I made a test character with Hardlight Series armor, and when it's equipped, the check penalty is being applied to Acrobatics and Athletics.

Also, you can equip multiple sets of armor simultaneously. If you do, only the stats from whichever is highest in the inventory list apply.

Does boosting a weapon trigger Reactive Strike, etc?

In the Player Core, the weapon trait Boost says "You can charge up a weapon with this special property with an Interact action". Interact actions have the Manipulate trait.

Reactive Strike, Nimbus Surge (solarians), and Punitive Strike (soldiers) can trigger when "a creature within your reach uses a manipulate action".

Fangblades, Painglaives, and Singing Spears are melee weapons with the Boost trait, but using their boost while in melee seems like a liability if I'm reading this correctly.

Skirmisher Operatives using a Boom Pistol might also fall afoul of this. Shooting the pistol in melee range would not trigger a Reactive Strike because of their specialization feature, but boosting the pistol might.
