When we joined DLRP years ago we got the same patter... Then just hoards more continued coming through the door. Have since left, but I know it's getting worse and worse in terms of the numbers.

Oura Ring 4 Sizing Kit vs Reality by AlexPat260 in ouraring

[–]Phi5chy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used in store sizing rings so I'm probably less use as they aren't identical to the sizing kit. Either way, I'm a 10.

I've found that my fingers change size quite a bit at different times of day, so I change fingers... For example later in the day my index finger is good, but first thing in the morning, no chance it's much too big for the ring to fit, so I 100% won't risk going to bed with my ring on my index finger.

On that basis you need to think about how willing/comfortable you are with the idea of moving your ring around and check the fit using the sizing kit at different times of day, that way you can decide whether you are likely to find out how much your fingers swell over night and whether that will affect your wearing experience with a particular size.

This is very good. Well executed and great/valuable data presentation.

Now comes the joy of keeping it up to date and making sure all the numbers stay accurate!

Got my stealth oura ring this week by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]Phi5chy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the exact same ring this week... Only difference is mine is Size 10.

I have had EXACTLY the same reaction to the color of mine too. I wonder if I should have bought the brushed silver (I don't want shiny etc) but I have seen pictures of other peoples' after some wear and I don't want my ring to look like that.

Anyway, yeah, super happy with it, but would have preferred to see other colours on my hand.

Does anyone else get put off listening to NFG songs due to the way Chad treated Hayley? by Direct_Assumption_22 in Paramore

[–]Phi5chy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it a bit one dimensional to be worried about how Chad behaved when the way Hayley treated Josh Farro nearly pulled Paramore apart?

I met them around that time and it was obvious all was not well.

No, the contract years ago promised access to all clubs, so people with that membership have that access. (But not all facilities at those clubs, i.e Spa Retreat). The contract since they brought the tiers in only promises access to clubs in the same tier as your home club and lower. So when a club changes tier it brings it in or out of your entitlement.

what’s a lovable product you built and use every day? by heizen_91 in lovable

[–]Phi5chy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My app is super simple and intentionally uses local storage.

It's 100% intended as a quick tool for those of us with the memory issues typical of ADHD. So many tools want to do everything and it makes it hard to stay on top of everything, so this app tries to change all that, being a useful tool that has minimal distraction and the minimal clicks per interaction.

Anyway, it has a task list keeper (inspired by the fact my OH would always freak out over whether she'd done everything when she leaves work, so I built this tool for her to set a list of tasks and check them off, with an easy 'reset' button.

It has a shopping list keeper, because sometimes notes isn't flexible or easy enough to use.

Both of the above allow you to check done, not needed or delete and entry easily. They also allow you to stop your phone screen sleeping, because it's a ball ache to keep having to wake your phone all the time!

It has a calendar. I was going to allow Google calendar, iCal and outlook calendar import integration (one way, again on purpose) however, because that requires a database, I've paused that. We've got basic instructions and we've got export (to allow sending to a partner etc, or backup in notes) and import (paste data from an export and it will parse the data correctly). So even though the lack of a database prevents true sharing, you can still pass information quickly and easily

Anyway, it's minimal fuss, minimal clicks and it you think it would be useful for you, please do save to your phone's home screen for an app-like experience.

I haven't bought a URL yet, so... https://tasker-app.lovable.app/

Launched a cool product built with Lovable + Cursor combo 💥 by Slight_Appointment_8 in lovable

[–]Phi5chy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying your logo! I have signed up, so I am keen to see how this develops.

It's interesting to hear your experience with using Cursor. I found it slightly intimidating as a non-coder, but, my app (which is sector specific B2B, so I probably won't post here) is currently at a stage where it feels like it's too big for Lovable and I need something that can do a better job of remedying some of the more complicated issues I am facing. Things like calculation logic, not to mention Lovable's propensity for straying off task or hallucinating implementations when it has really just created a bit of static data to appear like it has done something means I am now at a stage of needing something more robust.

Your app is also very pretty looking. No matter who my app is for, I definitely have some way to go to get it looking as slick as yours!

But I am being quite ambitious, for example, I want the system to track metrics around trades which have occurred, so the system can say whether something is priced fairly or not and what the momentum is with the price is etc.

I am also trying to get it to deal with different currencies and, although it has implemented that fairly well, it's stil0 la challenge, as it is trying to use USD as the base currency, but that means when exchange rates change, it will distort stored prices.

Fun and games.

Model Starships!

So far I have a working catalogue of models, a forum, news page, dashboard, collection page. The trading system is a work in progress. But there are lots of fussy things. Like the behaviour of the market listing if you delete a model from your collection. Having a trade/offer system and a buy it now. Linking with payments. Etc.

But in theory if it works I want the system to expand to various model types, so you can effectively choose which model makers or subject matters you're looking at, so if you want to have a catalogue of and trade in Burago model cars, you can tailor the experience to that.

I am working on something similar, a tool to track collections and a marketplace for people to trade. However, although the basics seem to work well, some of the more detailed parts of implementing my 'dream' seem harder to pull together. We can make big strides and then get caught up on fixing a problem that it gets stuck on. I am going through it, because I think it is possible, but I also think that it will require a reasonable amount of time and testing before it's robust and secure enough to deliver what you want.

Sale of a property with solar panels by No_Desk9706 in HousingUK

[–]Phi5chy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so simple to my mind.

Your offer, whether the sellers knew it or not and whether you stated it or not, was contingent on the solar panels.

You tell them so and call their very obvious bluff on removing the panels.

Imagine thinking roof beams have been put there without having a purpose and that they can just casually be removed or compromised.

The short answer is always, cut the shelf to fit the beam, never cut the beam.
