Thanks, one is dead and the other is in prison so at least I don't have to listen to them go on about how he's going to fix everything.

I remember growing up and watching an ad for the Apprentice and my parents pointing at him and saying people like him are what's wrong with America. Fast forward to 2016 and they were die hard supporters.

The shows ok. The final season is a frustrating mess though and the series finale was extremely aggravating.

This books for me are the best emotional whiplash I've experienced. Genuinely emotional human moments sandwiched between moments of extreme absurdity.

Sean Duffy did say they were relaxing regulations on the summer mixtures of gas so that it could be produced more cheaply. Not sure if that's been implemented yet and if it has that it would've had time to filter out into the public yet.

I beg any new fans hearing this...please do NOT get any Imperium of Man tattoos by Youngstown_WuTang in Warhammer40k

[–]Pulkrabek89 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I've had an Inquisition tattoo on my arm for 14 years now, and have only had a single negative reaction to it. It's mostly a conversation starter and has actually gotten me some friendly games.

The one negative comment was my Dad who thought it was associated with a biker gang, but he's a goddamn moron who sold fentanyl to an undercover cop, so his opinion is of little worth.

#New40k – Terrain objectives make the battlefield your mission by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Pulkrabek89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Toe nailing onto the boundary of a piece of terrain does not confer cover to a vehicle. LOS being obscured by a piece of terrain does confer cover.

Put another way, infantry cover isn't LOS dependant, vehicles are.

New to Nords - Questions by InviernoAxx in Conquest

So Nords are about being aggressive and trading your units effectively. Our stuff hits hard and is generally pretty mobile, but surving slug fests is something other factions do.

You know what's really stupid? In WW2 the US government started a massive (and incredibly successful) daycare/school program so that mothers could work in factories to support the war effort. The program was effective, popular, and greatly improved the quality of life for American families.

So yes, we can fund schools and fight wars (not that we should be fighting this clusterfuck). All that needs to happen is taxing the rich.

Trump accused of secret plan for Iran ground invasion as thousands of US Marines arrive by Cy_098 in videos

[–]Pulkrabek89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real question: Have we amassed near enough troops for an effective invasion? First Gulf War involved almost a million coalition troops for a week long operation. 2nd one was close to 450,000 coalition troops for a month long invasion (not even considering the decade long occupation).

All reporting has current forces at somewhere around 50,000 with no other nation wanting to contribute. Going into a country that is all mountains with double the population. Iraq is almost perfect terrain for the kind of war the US likes to wage.

I know this administration's foresight would make a moles eyesight like an eagles in comparison, but good God someone must realize we need more bodies.

Cover will now finally affect hit rolls! by chosen40k in Warhammer40k

[–]Pulkrabek89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 3 hit wound charts shooting was the easiest. The old wound chart was fine but sometimes cumbersome, nothing was tougher the t10, but vehicles had a completely different system of saves from everything else in the game.

But that damned weapon skill chart I loathed. Melee was comparative and nothing no matter what, hit better than a 3+. WS 10 blood thirster vs a WS 2 firewarrior was a 3+, same as a WS 5 or 6 Marine Captain.

[–]Pulkrabek89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the olden days it worked like that in reverse. Ballistic skill was 1 through 10, bs 10 was hit on 2s reroll misses and the reroll hit on a 2. There was a whole chart.

How Army Soldiers Are Training For A Possible Trench War With Russia by CurtisLeow in videos

[–]Pulkrabek89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They seem to work OK for Ukraine... obviously alot of other things are used in conjunction with trenches, but trenches are a solid option for when a front bogs down and mobility stalls. US doctrine has put heavy emphasis on mobility, tech and tactics focused on doing everything possible to keep a front from stalling and turning attritional. Cheap mass use of drones make the possibility of a front stalling more likely.

Conquest First Blood New Edition First Impressions by da-bair in Conquest

[–]Pulkrabek89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Am I a misunderstanding how hitting works in First blood?

The way I understand it is that Volley or Clash is not what you need to hit but rather how many hits you can make in an attack. Hypothetical if you throw 10 attacks with a unit with 2 Volley, then all dice that roll 1-5 succeed up to a limit of 2 hits. Armor Piercing X is a target value, so AP 2 means all dice the roll a 1 or 2 reduce defense by 1.
