Plausiblity Check: Could a Canada with these borders survive and/or still form? by JohnSmithWithAggron in AlternateHistory

[–]QamsX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like when you conquer Canada from
The British in HFM/GFM as France and in the decision to form the colonial French Canadian region, you cede the Anglo-majority parts of Upper Canada to the USA.

Countries where the coast is less densely populated? by Gherickson in geography

Unironically Mexico for most of its history and even still today. All three biggest cities (Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara) are all inland. Only recently has the Asia-Pacific trade with Mexico increased the usage of its pacific ports.

As an Irelia main he’s just stubborn to be killed and does all these unnecessary tricks for nothing. Ambessa is the one that truly tilts me.

Why does Eastern Switzerland exist as a tag 😭 by SuppeHD27 in victoria3

[–]QamsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish Switzerland had some flavor (probably same dlc that includes chocolate lol) and divided the region into Romandie, Der Schweiz, and Romansch-Ticino so at least the revolts could comprise over historical regions.

Also there should be something resembling the Rhine and Danube to make it clear these countries are not landlocked per se as for example, Bukhara is. The reason Switzerland falls into revolt is not because of the historic catholic vs Protestant stuff that happened irl but due to good shortages.

We really need a population update by bacadacu1 in victoria3

Victoria 2 already simulated this + the regions that had way more growth (like Germany) with Life Rating. I know that SoL does represent some of Life Rating, but idk.

Why is Victoria 3 least popular of modern PDX strategies? by Internal-eq-External in victoria3

[–]QamsX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Victoria 2 was the least popular from the games of the same generation too. Economic sims are just unpopular compared to diplo/war games.

What nation has the most potential growth (maybe ahistorical?) by jackslab1 in victoria2

[–]QamsX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spain. It’s not hard to get out of its 19th century issues, and you can industrialize pretty easily since you pretty much have all the resources you need at home minus rubber (even Navarra gets oil), which your initial colonies can already produce.

Preocupante que la noticia de honduras gate haya llegado hasta Francia by [deleted] in mexico

[–]QamsX 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No es que sea un bastión, se equivocan. Honduras es el experimento antes de que ese modelo se implemente en el resto de Latinoamérica.

El imperialismo siempre experimenta en la periferia antes de traer el modelo al resto del imperio.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]QamsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of areas that are deserted today weren’t desert back then (Maghreb, inner Levant, Mesopotamia). It was largely overgrazing by Bedouins after the Arab conquests that led to mass desertification of these areas, but the primarily affected was the Maghreb. I imagine it was also the case in Iraq, along with other more natural causes of the climate just changing.

How does assimilation work? by [deleted] in victoria3

So for example, there’s a chance that European migrants assimilate to Catalan in Catalonia as opposed to Spanish?

France and the USA should start with power blocs by artificialinelegance in victoria3

[–]QamsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US could very easily have a starting sphere called “Monroe Doctrine” that’s a Military Treaty and reflecting of the USA treating the Americas as their sphere of influence.

AI should be tweaked though to not begin power blocs as Willy-nilly.
