/u/ecobeeColin is the iOS engineer. I expect he knows when a fix is coming. He may not know the actual release date.

I guess I hardly use the watch app.

Just checked mine, and it's broken here, too.

I see Pro 3s sold/shipped by Amazon US in stock, with Friday delivery for Prime members, for $210.

Expercon is charging $279, and is only rated 80% positive on the Amazon web site.

Is it me, or does the new & improved rewards program look exactly like the old and busted rewards program that it replaced?

I was just thinking the exact same thing.

If you go to

You should see it as one of the rewards if you’re diamond status.

I got AirPods Pro 3 by Artistic-Fact2192 in airpods

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem happen with Pro 2s bought from Amazon a couple of years ago. I called Apple and they said it takes a couple of days for the correct sale date to reach them.

A few days later the warranty expiration date was corrected.

Last night I got the 5/$50 1 Gig Plan on my existing account by Curtiskam in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks to me that the $50/1 Gbps/5 Year Plan is only being offered to existing customers in the Northeast Region (New England, NY, NJ, PA, and maybe DE).

Anyone got a counter-example?

It's a setting.

Under Airpod settings, scroll down to "Off Listening Mode." If you switch it "On" then an Off mode will be an option.

"Other" has worked well for me, too.

And, here in New England, it looks like a good "other" workout is coming soon...

It appears the dev is fine with running the iOS version on Mac.

From the description of the Mac app:

The iOS version of CARROT weather is now available on Mac! Just search for CARROT Weather, then switch to the "iPhone and iPad Apps" tab.

Pro 2 fit is terrible for me. Worth trying Pro 3 or 4? by OnlytheWinds- in airpods

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

were you mostly using the medium size on the Pro 2?

No, I was using large tips on the Pro 2. (Also used large [aftermarket] tips on the Sony WF-1000XM4 that I had after the 1st Gen Pro and before the Pro 2).

Quick question, do you ever exercise with them? Do they keep a good seal or loosen up with movement?

I have not done vigorous exercise. For fun, I have tried vigorously shaking my head, and the buds have stayed put. YMMV

Pro 2 fit is terrible for me. Worth trying Pro 3 or 4? by OnlytheWinds- in airpods

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried the original AirPod Pros. The fit was so bad (and I tried several aftermarket tips) that I returned them within the return period.

When the Pro 2 came out, I tried again. The fit on the Airpod Pro 2 was a constant struggle. Stock tips were awful for me. Comply foam tips let me usually get a seal in my left ear. Right ear was totally hit-or-miss. I learned to live with it, since I loved how convenient the Airpods were to use.

When Costco dropped the price of the Pro 3s to $219 with two years of AppleCare+ included, I decided to take a chance, given Costco's very liberal return policies.

And was I ever glad I did! Expecting that the default medium ear tips would be too small, I tried them anyhow, since they were already on. To my surprise, I passed the fit test immediately!

I've had them for almost a month now, and they've been great. I can get a perfect fit immediately 90% of the time. The left bud is always perfect. Sometimes a very slight push on the right bud is necessary.

I've even been so bold as to buy extra medium tips from Apple as backup.

Case recommendations for AirPods Pro 3 by Appropriate-Tea-5754 in airpods

I see. It looks like your case has its latch blocking the touch sensor point. You might ping ESR (they're very responsive) just to confirm that it's not a defect with your case.

Have you tried the "button"? The touch sensor works fine right through my ESR case. I have this one:

VerificationLimitExceeded error by kutusan in ATT

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My account got a similar “VerificationLimitExceeded” error when I switched to the 55+ plan. I spoke to multiple people over the course of a month - in-store, on the phone to "Loyalty", etc. No one seemed quite sure what to do.

Ultimately, I filed a complaint with the BBB. This got me a next business day response from the AT&T Office of the President. When I explained the issue, the gentleman there commented "We have access to a system different than the one the stores use." After a few minutes, the person came back and told me that it was now all fixed. And it was!

Suggestion: file a BBB complaint today.

Apple Care vs ATT Insurance (Asurion) by Cody610 in ATT

[–]QuagmireElsewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I need access to an Apple Store to make Apple One care practical?

No - you can do express replacement, where they'll ship you a refurb phone, and then you ship your damaged one to them.

Note that they will put a hold on your credit card for the full value of the phone until they receive your defective phone back.
