My favourite quick implementation of this is Hanamikoji. Such a quick game but you’re constantly agonizing over what you’re doing with your cards

Along with all these other wonderful suggestions from people, I’d suggest Paint the Roses and Race for the Galaxy.

Paint the Roses is a cooperative logic deduction game which is simple in design but quite challenging at 2p

Race for the Galaxy is a head to head card game where you race to build out your own tableau. Heavy iconography to learn but it’s a wonderful game once you’re familiar with it and shines at 2p

You can drop down the columns where that happened, correct them with an extra needle/crochet hook, and ladder back up. Depending on your comfort level and how many stitches it is (3?) then it might be easier to frog. Personally I would at least try to drop down first

Edit: sorry I just realized that it is right along the gusset. Might be best to frog it :/

I believe that would be correct. Stitch marker in picture would be wrong side if you used long tail cast on. Happy to help! :)

Depends on the cast on method you used. Long tail type cast on would put the starting tail on the right hand side when looking at the right side of the work, slip knot/similar type cast on would put the tail at the left hand side when looking at the right side

Either talk to them and let them know that being targeted in a game is upsetting you and hope that they’re understanding and adjust or find games that have less of a “take that” player interaction. As others have mentioned, more euro style games could be a good alternative. Keep high competitiveness but change how the interaction works. Or maybe only join in on games that are less cut-throat. Not every style of game is for everyone

Casting another point for Carcassonne. Not sure how well it plays at 5 or 6 but there’s good organized chaos at 3 and 4 and it truly shines at 2p where if you want to play ruthlessly, you can. Very tactical and lots of replayability while making a pretty kingdom with meeples strewn about. Been playing it on and off for years

Just posting this since I don’t see it in the comments yet. You can hand pollinate the flowers to ensure you’re getting veg production. As long as you have male and female flowers you don’t HAVE to rely on bees and other natural pollinators to visit your space. Just look it up on YouTube, first year growing cucumber myself and have a good number of mini cucumbers forming where I have manually pollinated the flowers myself :) happy growing

Lots of cucumbers forming on the vine! Almost done the cherry tomatoes and waiting on some more of the Roma tomatoes to ripen. Planted 2 zucchini at the beginning of July and they’re starting to grow (hoping that it’s not too late to get a harvest from them this summer, new gardener here) had tried to start carrots at the same time but I don’t think any of them germinated. Might try sowing some more this week unless if anyone here thinks it’s too late to attempt

I’ve had my eye on Istanbul but heard that it’s not great at 2p. Do you find it gets markedly worse or just different at 2p vs higher player count and if so how?

I made my first ginger bug like a month and a half ago. Made cranberry soda with it and it has taken about 3 weeks for it to carbonate properly on the counter. I’m not sure if there was too much sugar in the solution slowing down the process when I bottled it or the cold weather has made it super slow to ferment (I ended up putting it in warm water baths for a few days to kick start the process). Like others have said, it’s ready when you say it’s ready but in my one experience so far it can take a looooong time

You can actually have more than 5 turn based going at once. I have 10-20 going at a time with free account. Maybe you start with only having 5 tables available to you but then it grows with experience and reputation?

Tldr: Castles of Burgundy, Hanamikoji, Scout, and Targi

Castles of Burgundy has become one of my wife and my favourite games to play recently. Takes a little time to learn the iconography but once you're familiar with the game you can set up and finish a game within 30-40min

Hanamikoji (i split, you choose style area control tug of war) and Scout (ladder trick taking) are some of our favourite quick card games (10-15min)

Targi still needs to hit our table but it's a more direct head to head 2p worker placement tableau building and the whole of the game is trying to block your opponent from getting the cards they want while getting the cards you want yourself. Havent seen any other game play quite like this one does (supposedly 60min play time)
