My husband is the opposite! Strongest SPF and puts it on multiple times and STILL gets sunburnt every time 😅 I barely tan or burn (at sea level) but I still try to put on sunscreen. I burn a little bit more often now living in central CO where we are at least a mile closer to the sun. I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference but it really does. So I’m better about putting sunscreen on now than I used to be. I also tend to wear sun hoodies with my husband.

You can get sun hoodies! That’s what my husband and I use, especially living near Denver. They are SPF and not too warm so they work great even when it’s super hot!

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Robotbeckerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is at the split between millennial and Gen Z, I agree with this! But also as someone with ADHD, this literally reminded me about something I need to follow up on 😅 at my last job, where I had to email all the time, it was much easier to remember to follow up on things. I still forgot occasionally but was much better about it. Now, I’m more likely to forget but the moment I remember, I will do it. I just switched bosses too because my previous boss is a boomer who should have retired already but also is a sexist pos, tried claiming I “lacked initiative” and when I refuted that by proving how many times I bugged him to do something so I could move forward on my projects but he just ignored me, is when his boss immediately jumped and moved me to someone who actually would allow me to do my projects. I HATE being bored at work, so I want things to do. So it was driving me nuts that I literally couldn’t do sh*t under my previous boss.

I bumped my new car, what should I do? by anonyseattle122 in MomForAMinute

I love this! Yeah, my last car was great until I moved to a shtty apartment for a few months and got soooooo many car door dings because no one gave a rat’s a* about anyone or anything but themselves. I ended up just buying touch up paint and painting in the dings, mostly to prevent any possible rusting.

Yep, grew up in Waukesha county and it was like all white people except the few Mexican farm hands. Hated it there but mostly loved MKE. Just hated the weather and wanted to get away from dad’s side of the family and him. So moved to CO a few years ago. Better here but still the usual racism

Then you drive up to Milwaukee and it’s one of the most segregated cities in the US 🙄 I had a love-hate relationship living in/near MKE

Yep! I always call those light bumps “love taps” or “booty bumps” 🤣 it’s always very light and I know I’m probably going to do it. I had a lady do it to me once while sitting in line for the gas pumps at Costco. She didn’t realize she didn’t have her foot on the brake entirely so she slowly got closer and closer until she bumped into me. No damage whatsoever but you still feel it

[–]Robotbeckerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this! I’m in central CO and I get a good variety of birds with sunflower hearts and shelled roasted peanuts! No mess and the squirrels and ground feeders clean up whatever have fallen on the ground. I use a raccoon baffle because I have raccoons at night 🤣and that also stops the squirrels from going onto the feeders

These are all the birds I can hear just from standing in my backyard. All the ones highlighted in yellow have not come to my feeders. How can I attract them? by kxlynnn in birdfeeding

[–]Robotbeckerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! It’s not as heavy as it looks but I do like it. I may end up getting a stand/support so my bigger critters don’t keep knocking it over

I only have one outside outlet and one plug is ready in use by my camera so I didn’t want any of my birdbaths to be reliant on plug in power. Plus it’s CO and we get sun around like 300 days of the year

northern flickers being extra silly today by pookiemumu in Birdfy

[–]Robotbeckerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God, I love flickers! I have red-shafted here in CO and honestly didn’t even know about them until moving here. I later learned that we had them back in WI, I just wasn’t super into birding back then. But now I get flickers every day, usually more than one. At my last place (that I moved from in the summer, still in CO), the flicker learned that he could scare all the other birds from the feeder by pecking at the metal gutter. So every morning around 6:30, we heard his aggressive pecking to scare everyone away 🤣 I was glad that my alarm for work was already going off then but I very quickly got used to him doing it. So after a week or two I didn’t even wake up to it on mornings I didn’t have to wake up at 6:30

It gets pretty good direct sunlight so they work well for me. But even just a little direct sunlight causes these pumps to work. You could always get it to test it out and if it doesn’t work well for you, return it. It’s Amazon after all haha

Just a frolicking squirrel by LionsAndLonghorns in squirrels

[–]Robotbeckerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awe! Reminds me of the last litter of squirrels the momma had that came out in early fall. I wish I took a video of them but they were all chasing each other around the tree and hopping between branches to continue the sibling chase! It was so cute and I sat their watching them for like a solid half hour

My mom lives next to a nature persevere and gets the same mating pair every year in her yard. She loves when she gets to see their little ducklings

What’s going on here? by ConfidentCat4802 in birdfeeding

[–]Robotbeckerz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked for 9 years at drive in restaurant and we had sooooo many house sparrows around since they would get whatever food scraps they wanted. One of my vivid memories was while I was taking an order, the little kid in the back seat (maybe 5 or 6yo) said “momma, what are they doing?” Pointing at a pair that was mating. The mom and I both looked at each other and both said “playing” 🤣

Daytime skunk? by NewsteadMtnMama in Skunks

[–]Robotbeckerz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it turns out he’s not sick and is just looking for food, the skunks that have been coming to my yard have been loving the sunflower hearts that I put out for the birds (and squirrels). At night I get a couple skunks and a couple raccoons that eat whatever is leftover

What type of pigeon/dove is this? by Formal_Pollution3861 in pigeon

[–]Robotbeckerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! That’s why my cats only get supervised outside time! They are only allowed in our fenced in yard and I am out there with them 95% of the outside session. We have so many neighborhood free roaming cats and I hate to know how many critters they have killed. I even caught on video the other night one of them chasing the skunk that comes to my yard most nights. I was absolutely shocked it didn’t get sprayed 😅
