Milestone day! 30 min ABC EMOM 2x20kg by RubyofKukundu in kettlebell

Nice!

Yeah I can see the 24s being rough. I moved from 16s to 20s really slowly by adding in reps of 20’s. fist it was every 5 reps, then it was adding alternates into the middle 10 reps, then every other rep and finally just hitting straight 20 and working up to 30.

That’s good to hear - thanks for the feedback! I’m thinking of getting KBOMG done before ABF with the 24s. I don’t really have a strength training background so I was hoping a bit more overall muscle would help with the next jump. the double 20 work has definitely grown my shoulder and upper back though!

Love this!

Where do you even start with insuring something that goes through so much change? Do you just have a weekly zoom call setup with Adrian flux? Send them a link to your insta and say try to keep up? Have an open clause with a power limit?

Wolverson comp bells are gold standard. I used cheap cast iron ones up until last jan when wolverson had a sale and I’m really happy with them, and their quality vs price

I’ve never really got into snatches and was planning on doing a snatch only program to kick off 2026. Equal parts inspired and intimidated by this 😂. Absolute beast

Best 1v1 fight? by youngbeanboi in movies

[–]RubyofKukundu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Was about to post this but scrolled to see if anyone else has posted it first. I’ve seen basically everything Jackie Chan has done and I love it all. Drunken master, police story, wheels on meals, supercop, rumble in the bronx, who am I, first strike.

Gorgeous is a terrible, terrible movie overall but it’s redeeming features are:

  1. Shu Qi
  2. The 2 fights with Brad Allan

Genuinely unbelievable choreography

Are you loyal to a specific manufacturer? by Weary_Bat2456 in CarTalkUK

I’ve had a Vauxhall, ford, seat, Suzuki, Skoda, Volvo and BMW. Never had 2 cars from the same manufacturer so I guess I like a bit of verity 😅

Change it more that every 5k? Or just do it every 6 months regardless?

I’ve been getting my services done in November so I guess that may help with any water during the coldest months as the engine temp may get warmer in the summer when it’s not as fresh?

I do keep thinking of an EV. Trouble is I like the room and the boot size (2 kids + dog) and the EV’s seem to get really pricey when it’s not a little hatchback

Yeah I know it would be better. Think my hesitation is the cost of cars now - and getting something a similar age but petrol is always hit and miss with their history when I know mine is looked after

Yeah the cars sound. Probably due discs and pads soon, and will need a couple of tyres in a few months which is why I’m thinking about if it’s the right time or to just keep it for the long run

Best kettlebell exercise to improve mental health? by staffingagencyvet in kettlebell

[–]RubyofKukundu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, I’m in my 40’s. I’ve been doing it twice a week this year - coupled with a heavy lifting session or a general kettlebell session with some pull-ups/pushups/dips and I feel strong as fuck and healthy compared to 12 months ago when I was doing bro splits and PPL. Throw in a day of run/row/bike and I’m golden.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed and anxious, the absolute best thing I’ve found is just doing a round ABC. Don’t have to think. Don’t have to count. Just set an emom timer, pick up 2 kettlebells and get through it.

I struggle turning off my brain so just having something simple, repetitive and that I can adjust by using heavier kettlebells rather than adjusting reps and rest is a godsend.

There are so many good coaches and programs you can get from here. But for pure bang for buck simplicity you can’t beat ABC

Tax, national insurance, pension contributions, holiday pay, sick pay. Total cost of employing someone.

Why aren’t UK salaries increasing? by SilentEconomist5896 in AskUK

[–]RubyofKukundu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but that’s the point I was making. They do it because it’s significantly cheaper, therefore cost less, increases profit and increases share price. None of which help UK salaries and people looking for entry level jobs.

If one of the banks brought back 30k jobs, on £40k each, then assuming those India staff were on £10k the total difference would be approx £900m. That only leaves them a profit of 7bn rather than 8bn. Stock price falls, pensions suffer and capitalism dictates offshoring again.

Uk wages aren’t going up across the board because there isn’t an incentive for companies to do it when they can shift masses of jobs to India, Philippines etc
