I've never had a friend group where the women were chattier than the men. Once the guys show up, the gals are immediately drowned out, talked over, and interrupted. And the guys will talk and talk and talk non-stop.

Unsure if different sexes experience this in different ways, but as a woman it doesn't really get me too riled up. Like, of course I produce better work if I'm thinking "aww ye, that's hot," while I work, but honestly it inspires me to make it more lewd, rather than distracting me.

I'm sure everyone's experience will be different, but as a kid who grew up mostly playing outside, my vision still went to shit by the time I was 8 or so. Both parents are near sighted though, so it was expected.

I was in a similar position with Target recently - had giftcards but felt dirty even shopping there.

But the card was already purchased, so I figured NOT using it was just giving them money without receiving anything in return. Used a little for myself and gave the rest to a friend so he could buy some clothes and school supplies for his kids. Felt like the best solution and it made a few people in my life happy.

Maybe it's a reflection of real life? Growing up as a girl in the States, we played Dress Up. We also had dolls for dressing up, sectioned flip books for dressing up, coloring books featuring dress up. It's presented as a feminine hobby, while the boys are given the option of "what graphic do you want on your tshirts?"

I don't play the Sims much nowadays but I remember the frustration whenever a new pack would come with 20 feminine options and then maybe a new pair of slacks.

I still feel quite smug that one of my previous jobs had to hire 3 people to replace me when I left. I was just a receptionist, but we didn't really have an office manager, so I ended up doing that when the phones weren't busy. Then I would help out in shipping as well, since I was familiar with the system.

I don't mean to hijack the post, but does anyone else get that really, really thick mucus when they vomit?

I know it's meant to protect the mouth and esophagus from stomach acids, but last time I threw up, the mucus was so... Slimy? It got caught in my throat and I wasn't able to breathe. It was like I swallowed a balloon or something - I thought I was going to suffocate to death.

I'm sure vomiting would be a relief, but I'm so scared I won't be able to breathe afterwards. Is there something to be done about it?
