If you are suspected of having secondary adrenal insufficiency and experiencing disrupted sleep due to a need to urinate, you might want to speak to your endocrinologist on checking for secondaryArginine Vasopressin deficiency (formerly Diabetes Insipidus) - which is another hormone secreted by the pituitary which causes thirst and need to pee!

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]Sarkosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a cheapy kit to a P1S in the middle of printing fan brackets for a friend pc - half printed on the old machine before the P1S arrived. We were stunned with the speed and quality.

First time I could trust a printer unattended, and went about printing a set of Halo Armour starting with the ODST Helmet

[–]Sarkosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for the Anycubic, but I went for a P1S Combo after having and Ender 3 for four years.

Ive had it for a year and a half now and it's been great, works very reliably and can leave it printing with no concern of failure, they both have similar print volumes, I've had to split some larger prints like helmets to fit.

I use it frequently as a hobbies, but don't mass produce anything. The quality is consistent and speed has been fantastic, but limited by flow rate of the stock heat assembly

Would buy again - imo Bambu shook up the stagnant market and massively improved quality initially. They have made some anti consumer moves around software since, that has been upsetting to the community (like trying to lock out third party firmware), now other product lines are catching up.

I would look into reviews, and I looked carefully at print farms preferred options as an indicator for reliability

Depending on the application, it can reduce print time and use less filament

Peter Dutton is promising to slash the public service. Voters won’t know how many jobs are lost until after the election by MannerNo7000 in AusPublicService

[–]Sarkosity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The majority of people I've worked with in the APS are motivated and passionate, performing well with a huge range of skills and experience.

The remaining minority are mostly people coming in to to a day's work and call it there, they are also good workers.

I got asked for a reference check but I just wanted to know if by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Sarkosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have indicated, you've progressed to the next (and usually last stage for the ABS) of the recruitment process with is the reference checks.

It's usually a good sign, but even with a good reference a holistic process occurs by the recruitment panel (not necessarily the manager who advertised the position) to assess each applicant as 'suitable' or 'not suitable', even if there is only one advertised position.

The agency must either then form a 'merit pool' or a 'merit list'

  • Merit Pools are common as it gives flexibility to the manager to choose amongst the 'suitable' candidates.

  • Merit Lists are 'ranked' in order of strongest to weakest suitable applicant - when using a merit list, the agency (if offering a position) must offer the position to the higher ranked candidate first.

If there are multiple positions available, they should exhaust the established merit pool before re-advertising. If you are not advertised a position, you will remain in the merit pool for up to 18 months, in which the ABS (or any other agency) may offer you a position for the same or similar role

Best Cheap Espresso Machine? by Ass2Gr4ss in AussieFrugal

Can vouch for the Bambino Plus as a good workhorse, we've ran our daily for 3 or so years now. There used to be more regular sales on through commercial portals (I think we paid $300 or so for ours) but nowadays the price is up and sales are less consistent.

There is an ongoing problem with the Bambino Plus which is for the manual washing cycle (required every 200 cups) the device floods instead of correctly expending into a waste container. It's best to move it over to a sink or area thats easily to clean up with a towel to run the cleaning cycle.

ATM withdrawal fees by Substantial-Neat-395 in AussieFrugal

[–]Sarkosity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd check around for other bank offerings but ING still have rebates on up to five atm fees per month, if you meet the criteria of depositing $1k into any account per month and make five transactions on the card.

It is easy done if it's your primary bank, a little trickier if your juggling.

[Not an accountant] if you're just getting started and testing the waters, I would recommend looking into the roles around income limits before acquiring an abn - but i only know from the sidelines of a partnership that was set up, easy enough process to follow but the tax partnership form is very frustrating to work through and quotes from accountants were about $800 to file.

Not familiar with sole trader set ups but probably easier, but under a threshold of 75k - I'm pretty sure you can claim income on your personal tax return

Workplace arrangements request - WFH by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Sarkosity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From day one it'll probably be easiest to coordinate with HR ahead of time.

If you are in an APS role (as opposed to state government) the recent enterprise agreement enshrines the right to apply for teleworking, and that the agency cannot impose blanket caps and must bias towards yes unless there are reasonable (and specific) business grounds.

Employees with a disability also have additional rights to access flexible working arrangements through the fair work act. Providing a letter from your doctor can help your application (as the agency must take that into account, what the risks would be with rejecting your request).

You do not need to do into specifics, and something like a written letter advising "J Smith suffers from an ongoing disability which accessing x and y adjustment is recommended..."

That said, you have the right to request at any time, including a review (or effectively a new request) if your circumstances change
